"It'll be fun," Outgoing snapped. Cora looked up from the floor, giving her a little smile.

"Annnd that's what you said last time," Churlish, the shortest person in the room, snapped.

Cora shook her head at Churlish and Outgoing shot him a superior smirk.

"We could also just continue with homeschooling," a quiet voice in the corner suggested.

"Yeah," Churlish grumbled. "They already look at us like we're weirdos. Going to this place will be an even bigger embarrassment to us."

"We're not weirdos!" Undaunted stood up quickly, almost knocking over table. Cora caught it, glaring at him.

"Sorry," Undaunted looked down, suitably chastised.

"So. What's it gonna be?" Churlish asked. No one spoke for a long time.

Outgoing took a deep breath. "I'm in for it. Anyone else?"

Undaunted's hand shot up. Churlish raised an eyebrow, then rolled eyes and nodded jerkily.

"Shy?" Cora asked, her voice coming out as soft as Shy's was.

Shy shook her head, casting a nervous glance at the others. "No. I don't think this is a good idea."

Churlish snorted. "Big surprise there." Outgoing kicked him.

"Why not, Shy?" she asked. Churlish rubbed his knee angrily.

Shy looked up, her eyes as deep as the ocean. "Because they'll find out."

Undaunted shook his head. "Nuh-uh! They won't!" He glared at the others. "They won't!"

"There's a chance of that, sure," Outgoing said slowly, "but we'll get to meet new people. How exciting is that?"

Shy shook her head.

"You're outvoted anyway," Churlish snapped. He turned to Cora. Cora sighed, then nodded.

Outgoing smiled at her. "Get out of here. You need to tell—explain your decision."

Cora nodded again. She closed her eyes and the room collapsed into a blur of darkness.
