The day the government started spraying the chemicals again was a terrible day. Murders took place. People were killed, innocent people. Everyone who breathed it in was in a daze unaware of what they were doing. All this chaos took place and yet they didn't care, Not one warning was mentioned. I was safe however in our buildings panic room with my aunt and a few other people. That's when I met him, his name was Hayes. He had brown hair swept to one side creating a fringe on the left side of his face. His eyes were beautiful brown orbs. His face seemed familiar, like I had seen him many times before but I don't recall ever seeing him. Perhaps it was just because he lived in the same building. We were all already in the room when he walked in his eyes looked worried, but his face showed nothing of the sort. My aunt and him took charge and told us all not to worry. Although one of the girls, her name was teagan, wasn't taking it very well, she was crying and mumbling incoherently. Well I guess you couldn't blame her she never could handle stress well. She's my best friend so I moved over to try and comfort her. Tears streamed down her soft pale face and her short black hair started getting stuck to her face, glued by her tears. That's when it happened,in the distance we heard a large explosion, it shook the whole building luckily the building didn't collapse. Then it happened a few more times. Suddenly it was dead silent no more noise, nothing. Was everyone dead? Hayes grabbed my hand and pulled me up, in fact he helped everyone up and off the ground. His hands were warm but also quite sweaty. I wiped my hands on my jeans quite subtlety so he wouldn't notice. My aunt pulled me into a corner and it felt like the gray stone walls of the panic room were closing in on me. Halen, when we walk out of this room don't make any noise, and do not run. Walk slow and look dazed do you understand me. I nodded my head quickly and quite violently. Good now come on. She pushed me forward and I stumbled into Hayes. He grabbed my hand and he started to move forward but I didn't budge. I just stared at the  beautiful, carved features on his face. He seemed to notice to my dismay and said cupcake now is not the time to stare. I blushed and pulled away from his hand, but it didn't work. He now held my hand even tighter. I was not enjoying this at all. Enjoying it cupcake he said quietly. No,no I am not enjoying this Hayes. Well good it'll be more fun that way cupcake. Don't call me that. Ok, cupcake. You don't listen do you. He didn't reply, I guess that answers my question. My aunt called to us to come near the door and be ready to look dazed. 3.2.1. Go. The goal was to make it back up the stairs and into my aunts apartment, now that it was somewhat safe and the chemicals have settled to the ground.
I don't remember the journey up to my aunts apartment, but we were there, already locked behind the door. We were safe for now. More importantly I am okay, and so is everyone else. Teagan called my name then giggled. What was she giggling about? Then I looked down and realized I was still holding hands with Hayes. I let go of his hand quite abruptly. He didn't seem too pleased. What, he asked in an whiny tone. You don't need to still be holding my hand we are safe now. Ok cupcake. Are you going to keep calling me that I called back as I walked over to teagan. No reply again. Teagan laughed as I walked over. Not a word from you teagan. She kept laughing. It was okay to be happy so I laughed with her,we were safe for now...
