Sunday passed a lot fasted than it should have done, and I still hadn't fully recovered from my hangover and my lack of sleep from the weekend events.
I sloppily opened my locker and tried to pick out the necessary books for first period, this was proving very difficult with an excited Leona harassing me for a piece of gum which I had mistakenly revealed on the bus.
"You always have gum. Why do you need mine?" I droned.
"I don't have any change today to buy it, and you know how much I rely upon my precious gum." She whined.
"If I give you some gum will you leave my hungover ass alone?"
"Anything" she shouts dramatically.
I hand her the small rectangle of chewy minty freshness as she sighs in relief. I roll my eyes at her. Before grabbing her by the wrist and dragging her to art.
We soon caught sight of Adrianna who was talking to Helena Bruce. It was too early in the morning to deal with Helena Bruce, especially with my awful headache.
"Leona don't you ditch me with Helena" I whispered.
"I think Adrianna is about to punch her in the face." She replies, completely ignoring my instructions on not ditching me. Seconds later she sped down the corridor to save Adrianna from talking about boys for a second longer.
I was left standing alone in the middle of the corridor completely stunned.
I felt a heavy hand land on my shoulder, it scared the life out of me.
I turned around comprehensively. Only to see the torso of an obviously taller boy. I looked up to see the smirking face of Dan Carter. I rolled my eyes, in my usual fed up manner.
"So I got your text. " he smirked.
"I was drunk." I protest.
"That's what they all say."
"Uh huh" I grumbled, not loving the situation to say the least.
He had his arm over my shoulder which was really annoying but I couldn't be assed removing it.
"You're hungover aren't you?" He laughs.
"Precisely." I drawled a response.
He laughed at me. And produced a packet of paracetamol from his pocket, being the drug dealer that he was. I took them happily, throwing the empty packet in the bin. This just happened to be the bin that Helena was standing about two feet from.
As we walked past her, her jaw dropped. She gave me a jealous glare but was too tired to even comprehend why. I saw her phone appear in her hand and her thumbs starting to move faster then light on the keyboard. Who was that slut texting now?
I got to my art classroom, which had already been taken into the room. I move away from Dan in an effort to go to class but he holds me by the wrist.
"Will you help me become a better person?" He questioned, his big puppy dog eyes luring me in.
"How bad do you want it?"
"A lot." He said quietly.
"Why me? Honestly. I don't want the same cheesy answer as at the party. There are plenty of good girls you have dated, why me out of all of them?"
He reached up and scratched his head awkwardly, he looked very uncomfortable.
"You were different somehow. You gave me this weird feeling in my stomach that made me feel bad when I made fun of someone. And you made me smile even when I felt like punching someone. You made every other girl look unappealing and even though I went out of my way to hurt you; you were the only one I wanted." He professed.I was holding back a grin at this point, trying hard to seem stone cold and heartless.
"Meet me after school, we'll go get coffee and talk." I spoke before turning and entering my class.
I sat down at my desk beside Leona and Adrianna.
"Where were you?" Leona pouts, "You were right behind me when I last saw you."
I swear this girl is blind.
"We thought you had been abducted by Helena and her boy stories." Adrianna added.
"Nope, I was saved by a tall, dark saviour." I said as sarcastically as I could, causing the two girls to laugh.
There was a burst of giggles from the other side of the classroom. I glanced up to see Natalie in hysterics, her phone was held out in front of her, which made me think she was looking at a funny picture or something.
"Becky Rogers?" She gasped for air in between her laughing fits. "Dan Carter and Becky Rogers?" She was wheezing now. I panicked.
What?
Me?
And Dan?
No!
This cannot be spread.I made eye contact with Natalie, which caused her to stop laughing.
"Is it true?" She questioned. "Were you and Dan making out this morning?"
I almost choked on my own saliva.
"Me and Dan?"
I coughed.
"No!!"
My eyes were watering.
"I'm helping with a favour that's all.""You're doing what?!!" Adrianna and Leona said at that same time.
"I'll explain later." I breath to the two girls before turning to Natalie. "Who told you that horrid rumour anyway?"
"Helena Bruce said she saw you being all friendly to Oliva; and Olivia told Brandon; and Brandon told Jake; and Jake told Sophie; and Sophie sent that you two were making out into our lunch table group chat." She uttered.
I. Hate. My. Life.

Meet me outside need to tell you everything!! - Becky to Jack
Lunch time came and I was sitting at my favourite picnic table with my phone waiting for Jack, so that I could quickly tell him everything.
When he arrived, he looked just as wrecked as I did. He sat down and set his head on the table before letting out I long groan in an attempt to complain without words.
"Tell me everything." He spoke.
I gave him a quick description of everything that had happened that morning, showing him the text messages and explaining this morning's drama.
When I had finished Jack looked a mixture of worried, angry and amused.
I knew that would be his exact reaction. He was angry that I had talked to and agreed to helping Dan: He was worried I was going to get hurt again: And he was amused at the idea that Dan Carter wanted to change.
"I thought I'd tell you before you heard any stupid rumours." I mumbled, slightly embarrassed at my mistakes.
"Don't worry, I understand." He hadn't taken his eyes off the table the entire time, I didn't know if it was because he was upset, or just tired but it was worrying.
"You okay?"
"I need to sleep." Jack replied, eyes still on the table.
I laughed at him.
"Only two more periods." I ensured patting him on the back before pulling him to the canteen to meet the rest of our friends.
