Prologue

Prologue: Kidnapping the Princess

Lucifer silently snuck down the halls of the palace. "Two more minutes until their shifts switch. Got to be quicker." He whispered to himself as he quickened his page to a jog. He stopped in front of a brown wooden door. He looked around, then slowly opened the door. As soon as he was in the door he shut it and locked it.

He ran to the bed that was in the room. Lucifer quickly shook the young girl that slept in it, "Ellie, awaken! Quickly!" The girl stirred and opened her eyes half way, "Lucifer? What is the meaning of this?" Lucifer grabbed her hand and pulled her out of her bed, "No time to explain. Dress, quickly, we must leave." The girl silently did as she was told while Lucifer looked outside the window, "Good, they're not out yet."

He opened the door slightly and peeked out. When he saw that nobody was around, Lucifer grabbed Ellie's hand and ran down the hall. Once they got outside, Lucifer had to stop and hide with Ellie four times before they reached the main gate. Lucifer stopped as a guard stepped in front of the gate, "Lucifer? Madam Ellie? My goodness boy! Everyone's gone mad, they can't find Madam Ellie. Get her inside to The Lady at once!" Lucifer's expression turned hard and cold, "Ralph... I need you to step out of my way. Now." Ralph frowned and stayed still, "I can't do that. I have strict orders not to let anyone out of the kingdom." Lucifer sighed and then turned to Ellie, he walked over to her and placed her hands over her ears and used two fingers to close her eyes. "Ralph, you should have listened to my warning. I really didn't want to hurt anyone," Lucifer's crimson red eyes started glowing, "but you've left me no choice." Ralph stumbled backwards, screamed, and then fell silent.

Lucifer pulled Ellie's hands off her ears and ran again. They reached the woods that bordered the kingdom and they crouched down by a tree. "Lucifer! I demand an explanation!" A sad smile appeared on Lucifer's face, "I wish I had time to explain, but there is no time left. You'll be traveling far away, and I won't come with you. Take this," he handed Ellie a letter which she held onto tightly, "it'll help you. Now close your eyes." Lucifer put his hand on Ellie's forehead and uttered a spell to remove her memories. He smiled at her one last time before uttering a spell that sent her to another dimension. "Goodbye Ellie. Stay hidden... For your sake and everyone else's." He turned back toward the kingdom as he heard the sirens and the sound of a troop matching out. He began walking to the kingdom, "Damn... You don't waste anytime do you, Annabelle?"
