Jack followed the older male to the docks, bags in hand as he asked questions.
Mostly ones relating to his role and what exactly they were going for.All of it was pretty simple. They were shooting a monster movie remake of King Kong. And the cool part? They were headed to the island. The one where it all began!
Jack was excited. Beyond excited! He couldn't wait to meet the rest of the cast, he couldn't wait to start practicing his lines and making new memories! As they boarded the boat, Jack was bombarded in a sudden hug, face suddenly full of hair.
"Jackaboy! It's so good to see you!"
Jack grinned, he could recognize that voice anywhere. He leaned into the other, seeing as he couldn't really hug back. "Danny! It's so good to see you too dude!"
The large haired man pulled back, clasping the Irishmans shoulders as he shook him, "I can't believe you're joining us! This is gonna be great!"
Jack just laughed, grinning like a goof. "I know! I haven't seen you in what? A year?! I thought you left New York?"
Adam took this time to leave, excusing himself to go tend to matters on the boat and to set off."It's just some personal stuff, I'd rather not talk about it.." He trailed off, shrugging.
"Understandable, my bad." Jack gave Danny a reassuring smile, nudging him as he changed the subject, "Who else is here?"
That seemed to brighten his mood as he flung his arm over the Irishmans shoulders and dragged him along.
"Dude, you're gonna love this, everyone's here!"
He couldn't help but grin, this was going to be perfect! He'd be working with all his friends!
As they all gathered around the kitchen area of the boat, they chatted, catching up and joking with a pint in their hands.
"So, are you guys excited to get to the island?" Jack beamed, looking around the table at all his friends.
"Definitely, it's gonna be awesome! I hope the boss is tellling truth about the legends." Ross was cut off mid sentence, Danny nudging him pretty roughly in the side.
"What legends?" Jack asked, a bit confused.
"Well.. we're really not supposed to tell you.." Arin mumbled, looking over at the door as if he was checking for something.
"What do you mean?"
"If anyone asks, you don't know any of this. Got it?" Brian said, the playful atmosphere turning serious.
Jack nodded, leaning in to listen closely.
"Ok, so the boss claims he's seen the real King Kong. Expect he's not at all what the movies said." Ross explained, voice low as he glanced over at the door every so often. "But the boss insists we bring a girl along. Some weird ritual thing or something. We've never gotten close enough though, we've always been ambushed by natives as soon as we get to the tree line.."
"That's pretty weird..." Jack mumbled, "What happened to the girls? And what kind of ritual is it?"
But before anyone could answer, Adam decided to come in and check up on the gang. "I take it everyones getting along?" Before anyone could anyone could respond, he continued.
"Now I know this journey is a bit different.. but I can feel it'll be different! Because, if you hadn't guessed by now, Sean here will be playing our lead role!""I uh, prefer Ja-"
Before he could even finish, everyone uproared.
"But you always choose girls!"
"He's our friend, you can't use him!"
"That's unfair!"
Everything seemed to unravel at the idea of Jack taking the lead role. Why? He had no idea, but he intended to find out."Hey!" He yelled, drawing everyone's attention, "What the hell is going on?!"
