Adjusting

What a whirlwind of events that have gone down in my life. The last few weeks have been incredibly difficult, requiring quite a bit of adjusting. After our little visit to the emergency room and my diagnosis, things have gotten rather... Interesting... To say the least.

The doctor was kind enough to write me a prescription to help ease my nausea and try and eliminate any excess fatigue brought on by it. But, as the nausea began to retreat. Several other hellish fiends have began to invade my life. Their names being acid reflux, insomnia, mood swings, and last but not least frequent urination. This has got to be the worst joke I have ever heard of... But sadly this is not the case.

Who am I really to be complaining though? Juliet and I have wanted children for the longest time now. The fact that one of us has successfully conceived is anything but a miracle..

I carefully make my way out of bed, looking out the hotel window. Snow has began to fall slowly over the sidewalk and street below. Despite it being cold outside, I still cannot get myself to wear a normal shirt when I'm inside. It's January, nearly February in Ohio. Juliet and I decided it would be best to tell our families the delightful news in which we have discovered. Beginning with my parents. This shall be.... Interesting?.... Fun?... Who am I kidding? They're going to think that we're a couple of lunatics.

"Babe? Are you awake?" Juliet calls out from the bathroom of our suite. I stay silent, looking out at the scenery below. My anxiety slowly eating away at me, devouring my mind with all the negative thoughts.
A warm petite pair of arms snake themselves around my waste. Her hands finding their way to my stomach and abdomen, resting there upon my exposed flesh. I'm not quite showing enough to notice any physical changes yet. I just look like I've eaten one too many cheeseburgers. Damn that sounds good too...
"Good morning my loves..." Juliet coos happily, rubbing gentle circles upon my stomach.

"Good morning mommy." I reply, pecking her lips quickly and softly. She smirks against my lips, that amused glint coming across her beautiful emerald orbs. "Mommy? Wouldn't you technically be mommy?" She asks, the smirk now turning into a Cheshire grin.
She has really been having fun with this entire pregnancy backfiring thing. Always finding time to bust my balls about it, even finding a way to make it kinky.

"Yes daddy." I reply rolling my eyes.

She giggles softly and kisses my cheek before handing me a shirt. "Come on silly goose. We're going to be late, your mom is probably already waiting for us in the lobby. Remember? We are going to meet her downstairs and then go to your dad's office to surprise him for lunch."

I nod quietly, sliding the shirt over my head.

I'm so not ready for any of this.
Someone please save me from myself.
