I'd give up everything, just to hold you in my arms, one more time

Neither of you knew what happened. It all started when you were both children, uncaring about what the world had in store.. but somehow one of you took a left turn.

You already drifted away from him.

The distance will be nothing, you thought. I'll see him again, you thought. We'll be together again... you thought. You thought. You couldn't lie to yourself, or to him. Sure, both of you were reunited before senior high started, but after that, the relationship you had built with him vanished. You and Rin had your own lives now, working and fending for yourselves since both of you had already come of age to be independent. You thought you were doing fine.

It was until you went through your things and found a gold necklace with a small pendant. It was given to you 6 years ago, when you last saw Rin. Tears started to well into your eyes as the broken promises started to rise from the back of your mind. You had to see him. You ran to your laptop, before eagerly looking for his email address and at the same time hoping that it had not changed. 

A sigh.

Fortunately, it had not; And fortunately, he lived in the same city as you do. You quickly wrote down the address, grabbed your coat and ran downstairs out of your apartment building.

"So.. it's located beside the diner.. Apartment number 8 on the second floor." Murmuring to yourself you gave a little nod of determination before walking again. It was approximately 8 in the evening, so the streets in this part of the city should be empty by now, but you saw a figure walking a few meters at your right. Navy blue jeans and a dark gray coat, black hair with the bangs almost covering the eyes.. he looked.. familiar. And you thought that it might be Rin, since you were close to the apartment complex, but you would rather save yourself from the embarrassment. You quietly approached the man before tapping him lightly on the shoulder.

"Excuse me, can you tell me where the highway is?"

And that was when he looked at you with cerulean orbs, about to open his mouth to answer until..

"Do I know you?"

Tears started to form at the corner of your eyes once more. 

"Hey, miss, are you okay?" He used one of his hands to pat your back gently. That didn't help, though, because it just wanted to make you cry more out of missing him so much after all these years.

"Wh..Where did you go, Rin? Why did you stop sending me letters?" He then felt a lump in his throat.

"_-__.. I.. just.. didn't want you to miss me. I didn't want to tell you that I'll be going farther away. But I didn't want to go away, ___." He held you fully now. "I'm sorry. I'm here now."

"Will you leave me again?"

"No. I promise."
