The Laughing Lady, The Giggling Girl, The Cheery Chuckler... These were the nicknames a girl was given. And obviously, to, generally, just be happy.
She was weird, though, because she giggled at even the most ridiculous things. From the corniest joke, to the driest humor. Whenever she wanted to laugh, she laughed! So obviously the jokers loved her.
But, no matter how much they enjoyed the sound of her chuckle in their ears, or no matter how much they wanted to believe it was them who caused it, they couldn't help but wonder.
"Why?" they blurted out, when she'd calm down.
"Why what?" she asked back with her usual smile.
"Why do you laugh so much?" they asked, confused.
She sighed, rolling her eyes, yet the smile never fades. "Isn't it obvious?"
They shook their head, making her giggle slightly, amused.
"I'm given an opportunity to laugh everyday. Why should I give that up? Besides, when I laugh, it makes both of us feel better," she explains, with a gentle smile, "Tell me, if you were given the chance to laugh, would you give it up?"
