Oh Old House

6 1 1

Oh Old House, what great people reside in thee.

Great Princes and fantastical lovers.

But the little girl in blue is not to be quite forgot

In the history of the State.

She is rich in the best of all compassions,

Yet voice she lacks and love;

And yet she sings and her heart is true,

Though she bloweth both hot and cold.

Beaten and battered what she hopped into a better shape by the person she held so dear.

Her heart was sinking, yet the boldest is she of incendiaries

That ever the wide world saw.

Oh Old House how you punish a longing soul who laugheth and make it more in the poor old house down the road.

Then hurrah for the little girl in blue!

And hurrah for her great friend!

And wherever you turn, you see the glowing smile

Of the little girl in blue.
