People say the grass is greener on the other side

Things will get better, wash away like a tide

I haven't found my way where there's a brighter day

The things that people say, all it does is take my time away

The things that I've been through, I'm done feeling anger

Though I'm with my family, I feel like a total stranger

The friends that I have make me feel strong

But when the words of hate hit me it never lasts long

The grass used to be green but as I aged it was dying

I tried to find someone else to blame though I knew I was lying

But I stay strong, get up, and search for the other side

Where the grass is green so I can no longer hide

I have a lot of flaws, too many some would say

I screw up, get emotional, and stand in my own way

But I always have those people who push me to stride

And help me remember I'll find the green grass on the other side
