The school loomed over me as I felt my inards turning to run wanting to get away as badly as I did. One last deep breath and I forced my shivering legs to move. Once inside I went to the front desk told them my name and sat down. I kept glancing at the clock. There was plenty of time before class but that didn't worry me instead the minutes felt like hours. With each one my anxiety got worse I had never moved before and to come so far from my only home it was more traumatic than you would suspect. I had focused in on the dirt and imperfections of the tile when someone tapped my shoulder. I looked up to see a really cute boy! He wasn't cute in the normal way no matter how you tried to twist it. Instead he had a hopeful innocents that you could just feel. I stood his atmosphere relaxing me and introduced myself. I'm (Y/N) it's nice to meet you...? Morty I'm your student guide! My student guide? Had I really been so nervous I completely forgot got about that! He didn't appear to suspect anything so I didn't bring it up. As we walked to our first class the bell rang. The day was filled with normal school activities and the accumulation of an enormous amount of homework. In each class I was systematically outed as the new girl and forced to go threw the grueling process of introductions. Every time I was I always found comfort in Morty he put me at ease and because he was so easy to talk to that's what I did ignoring the rest of the students. The one class I wasn't forced to partake in the depressing ritual was math. I don't know if I should be glad or worried that the teacher seems to care so little. Eventually the nerve wracking day ended and I sat on the front steps waiting to be picked up. Morty came and sat with me. He told me stories about his adventures and about his family. I didn't have anything as grand but he laughed at my jokes and seemed really engaged so I must have caught his interest somewhere. My parents pulled up early but before I left I looked into his hopeful face one last time. Morty can I have your number? Y-yeah of course! He jumped up and pulled a sticky note out of his bag writing it down. I stared at it for a minute surprised by myself. So does this mean we can go on a date some time? I smiled and blushed. That sounds like a definite possibility.
