Bionic Bash

In the year 2043 everything was based on electricity; even the people.

One day Maddie and her family were flying to the store.

"Mom," Maddie's brother whined, "why do we have to go to the store? We have a bunch of bio-food at home." Maddie grunted. She had told him a million times. Bio-food only powered their bionics, not their bodies. Besides, she wouldn't even be able to eat it since she wasn't bionic. Just the thought of having wires and batteries being inserted into her body made her sick.

Suddenly her thoughts were interrupted by a loud crash followed by a lurking force of gravity. The hovercraft crashed to the ground! Her brother pried open the door and let himself out. Obviously, the bionic ability he had was strength. The reason for the crash had occurred to everyone simultaneously, but Maddie was the first to speak up. "Someone must have cut the power, but how?

No matter how many times Maddie had thought over that question, she just couldn't figure out how the power was cut. First the hovercrafts, and her family too, all rendered helpless by the loss of power. Mabey it was just a power outage? she thought hopefully But deep in her mind Maddie knew there was something else going on.
