"I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once."
Katy woke up with the soft noise of birds singing, she opened her eyes slowly, not yet remembering where she was. She rolled in the bed and saw John sleeping peacefully. Katy remembered where she was: Bozeman, Montana. John Mayer's house. They had arrived yesterday evening.
She got up and went downstairs, heading to the kitchen. She wore nothing but an oversized sweater borrowed from John, her underwear and socks. Katy made herself some coffee and went outside, sitting at one of the wooden banks. The snow was slowly falling and already covered the grass and trees.
Katy never bothered to come to Montana, nothing ever happened there, but she had to admit it was a lovely and cozy place. She heard steps and turned around to face John, who was still yawning.
- Enjoying the landscape? - he said while sitting by her side.
- It's awesome. I just don't understand how you, a guy who likes to party, or used to I don't know, ended up here.
- I still like it, I guess - he giggled - but I needed some time to think, and Montana was a great choice.
- I agree
- Are you hungry?
- Yes... But... Can you cook?
- Of course... Not! - he giggled - What about you?
- Such a shame Mayer - she whispered in his ear - Everyone knows Katy Perry can't cook.
- I won't disappoint you anymore - he said, taking her in his harms and pulling him to his lap. He started to trace a trail of kisses in her neck.
- You better not - she said, now breathing heavily, her legs enlaced around him.
- Good morning - A female voice said.
They pulled away quickly and stood up, it was one of John's maids.
- Huh... hi... I thought you weren't coming today
- Well sir, you told me to not come on the 28th, today is the 27th...
- Oh, I got the dates wrong, you can go home if you want to. But can you make our breakfast and lunch please? So we won't starve.
- Sure
When she walked away, Katy slapped John's arm playfully
- What kind of person gets the dates wrong? - she giggled
- Me!
- Expect a calendar as your next birthday gift.
Both came back inside to protect themselves from the wind and had their breakfast.
- Wanna go back to bed? It's cold - he said
- No, I want you to show me the city.
- Katy, I live basically outside of Bozeman, the houses are very apart from each other, besides, there's nothing here to show.
- Let's just stay in your small yard - she said, ironically - I want to enjoy the snow.
- Fine then.
A few minutes later, both were walking on the huge land of John's house. They walked side by side, Katy was holding a sled that she had found inside the house. Approaching the bottom of the land, there was a small ravine and then another piece of land and a lake.
- I'm gonna sit on this sled and then you push me so I go down the ravine.
- Katy, are you serious?
