Junior Year

"Looooolllllaaaaaaaa." Harry sing sang as he walked through the door, a wide smile spread across his cheeks as he takes the seat next to her.

She looks up from her textbook with furrowed eyebrows, a small frown plastered on her face. "Wu?"

"Guess who got the number of a very attractive mannn." Harry's smile only widened as Lola rolled her eyes, placing her pencil down. "I swear to god if yo-"

"Lola Rukin does!" Harry shouts, receiving multiple shushes all around the classroom. Lola grunted, running a hand over her face. "What the fuck Harry?! I told you and Eleanor to stop with the fucking match making cupid shit. Is Perrie seriously the only sensible one out of you three?"

Harry shrugged, snatching Lola's phone from her bag as he quickly typed in the unknown number. Lola grabbed it back, cursing under her breath when she realizes Harry had sent a text to the number. "At least tell me who it is."

"Dan. Dane. Daniel. Yep that's his nam- shit." Harry cursed, rubbing the side of his head where Lola had smacked him. "You don't even know his name and you gave him my number!"

"He was hot!" Harry defended, a small pout edged on his lips. Lola rolls her eyes with a huff, going back to continue taking notes for their project research paper.

A few minutes later, Harry breaks the silence, making sure his tone doesn't go above a whisper so his teacher doesn't lash out on him. "So I heard the new guy transferred today." Harry states, chuckling lightly when Lola grunts.

"Do you're fucking notes - I'm not doing all this damn work for you to get an A after doing nothing. It's called a partner assignment for a reason, Harry." Harry rolled his eyes, getting up to grab one of the many informational books provided.

Lola glanced at the book Harry brought back to his desk, sighing before setting her pencil down. "You got the wrong book, bub." Lola smiles, ruffling Harry's hair. "So cute but oh so stupid." Harry grunted, swatting her hand away.

She laughs, getting up to take the book back when the door swings open, Miss. Barax, the principal, walks in with someone trailing behind her.

Mr. Treyn looks up from his papers, a small smile plastered on his face as Miss. Garza whispers something quickly to him before walking out, leaving the new student.

Mr. Treyn stands, clearing his throat slightly as he instructs the student to face the entire class. With a small nod the student complies, his eyes taking in his new surroundings.

Lola's eye widen as the heavy book she had been holding flies to the ground with a loud bang, everyone's eyes turning to the source of the sudden loud sound.

She was frozen, her breath hitched in her throat as the new student's eyes lock with her's. Harry furrowed his eyebrows, trailing her vision to the new student.

Mr. Treyn gave Lola a small shake of disapproval as she recollects herself, snatching the book up from the floor and hurrying back to her desk, keeping her eyes down.

"Everyone, we have a new student today. His name is Liam, Liam Payne."

Lola's breathing was hysterical, she felt like she was being suffocated, like she could just faint any second. "Is that.."

Lola glanced to Harry who sat in his chair tensed, his hands clenching the side of the desk tightly with his jaw locked in place, his eyes train deadly onto Liam as Mr. Treyn goes over some things with him.

Lola swallows hard, giving Harry a small nod. As Mr. Treyn excuses Liam to take a seat, Lola's panic only increased when she realized the only open seat was next to her - so she packed up her bags quickly, telling Mr. Treyn that she really wasn't feeling good at all and that she had already finished all the notes she needed to do the paper.

He understood, letting her go with a few papers for homework before she ran out side to the nearest trashcan, her breakfast from that morning landing at the bottom of the waste basket.

Sophomore Year

"Wow." Harry lets out a breath, his mind running empty as he thinks of something to tell Lola.

"Yeah." Lola says nervously, the nails on her fingers gone to stubs as she bites harshly and hurriedly. Harry reaches out, grabbing Lola's hands to keep her from biting further.

"Lo," He smiles, trying to collect his thoughts. "I love you, okay? You know that right? That even though I just met you a few months ago, I love you. So so much. You're like - I wanna say sister but I already have one of those." Harry chuckles, his smile brightening when Lola giggles. "Soul buddy. Yeah, you're like my soul buddy - a second half and I can't remember what it was like not having a best friend like you by my side. What happened to you back then? Wont ever happen to you here. I'll make sure if it. Fuck that girl Heether or whatever, fuck everyone who tried to fuck with your life. You are beautiful. Like - i'm jealous."

Lola chuckles, shooting up from her seated position and tackling Harry into a tight embrace. She hid her face in the crook of his neck, a small tear escaping her eyes. Harry wraps his arm around her instinctively, smiling slightly at how small his best friend's figure was compared to his.

"Can we go get a bagel now?" Harry chuckles, nodding his head. Lola pulls back, wiping under her eyes with a small sniffled laugh. "Oh god, I'm such a mess." Harry laughs, shaking his curls. "Nah, we're all a mess at some point.  So technically - everyone's a mess which means that it's normal. You know what i have no idea what I'm saying." Harry laughs, his  eyes brows furrowed slightly with a wide dopey smile plastered on his face.

Lola leans back, her eye brightening slightly. "Hey! You never told me how it went with that girl - Quinn?" Harry makes a disgusted face, shaking his head. "She was crazy - not even kidding - practically humping my leg the entire night."

Lola hits Harry's chest playfully, shaking her head. "You shouldn't talk about people like that." she scolds him, rolling her eyes when he pouts. "I'm just speaking the truth." Harry shrugs, large smile spread on his cheeks.

"Now lets go get those bagels."
