December 12

(7:15 a.m)

I got into William's small red Honda. Sean is already in the back getting in his car seat. I sat down in the passenger seat as William began his short trip to the car.

The whole clan is either on their way to where ever the Hell they go, or they are inside.

William opened the car door and looked down at me for a moment. "You have one pointe shoes."

"What?" I asked looking down at my feet. I saw my black Mary Jane's on my feet, not my pointe shoes!

The school we go to requires girls to wear white, gray, or black button up shirts. Gray, red, or black skirt. Thigh high white or black socks, with black Mary Jane's as foot wear. A tie, that can be any color but pink, green, blue, and lavender. Girls have to wear their hair in either, pigtails, a tight bun, or a ponytail. I look like a naughty school girl!

Boys are required to wear white, gray, or black button up shirts. Black dress pants, and black fancy dress shoes. They have to wear a tie with either white, gray, red, or black on it. Boys look perfectly fine, polite really. Girls, however, look like anime cartoons!

I smiled. William smiled back at me for a moment. "No, I don't!"

"You have done it before though," William reminded me of the second day of school. I walked right into school with my pointe shoes on instead of my Mary Janes. It was rather humorous on the fact I didn't notice the hard block hitting the tile flooring. I was in from a late night of rehearsals.

William put the key in the ignition and started the car. With that William made the car roll on down the way to school.

The school we attend is filled with humans. The only other shape shifters here in town are our clan members.

Humans don't know much about our clan. They believe that we are a religious cult that needs to be left alone to sacrifice children.

William steered the car onto the road. The forest area of the town have taken over much of the area, we rarely go into town. I have to go into town each day to either film or rehearse for the television show.

"Natalie?" William asked.

I pulled my hair into a tight bun as we pulled into the preschool parking lot.

"What is it darling?" I asked in a sweet voice.

"I need to tell you something before we get to school." He sounded very off. He didn't even bother to look me in the eye.

What has he done? I know he wouldn't dare go off and sleep with some other girl. I know he would never murder anyone!

"Are we going to die?" Sean asked innocently.

I turned my head to find my poor boy teary eyed. Sean is more afraid of death than I had thought! Yet, he gets into more fights at school than most of his classmates. Sean makes himself look tough to his peers, in reality though, he is quite afraid.

"No," I smiled. "We are not going to die! Sean? Do we need to go back to Miss Caroline?"

"No!" Sean nearly yelled as he undid his car seat.

Miss Caroline was his therapist. She was an old woman that made a living off of scaring children. That woman scared me to death when she showed me pictures of a ballet dancer that dislocated her  femur bone from her hip socket.

I shook my head at the memory. I kissed William's cheek and quickly got out of the car.

The cold morning hit me hard when I stepped out of the car. I walked around to the other side of the car.

William had his right hand cupping his mouth. He shot me a glance for a brief moment. I ignored his worry look and opened the back door up for Sean.

Sean jumped out of the car and ran to the trunk of the car. William clicked the button and the trunk of the car opened. I walked slowly over to the trunk. Sean grabbed his black book bag and lunch box.

I closed the trunk as Sean got himself fixed up properly. I looked up at the sky, cloudy high chance of rain. I felt the cold wind take me as I walked through the crowded parking lot.

Many parents are already here at the pre-school. This is the only pre-school in town that actually teaches children anything other than how to be social butterflies. I can see the human mothers gossiping about each other. Most of them are in their mid-30s and have decided to finally have kids, for they realized how unattractive they look.

I pushed past the mothers and opened the glass entrance door. The schools hard tiled floors hit against my Mary Jane's as I walked down the hall to the third year classroom. Down the hall, second door on your right, if you hit a large lady bug you have gone too far.

I can already hear the children in the room playing before class starts. I opened the heavy wooden door for Sean. Sean ran inside the classroom and put his book bag in his little containment area. He looked rather cute when he struggled to get his jacket onto the hook.

Miss Jennifer, Sean's teacher walked over to me calmly. The middle aged woman and I have developed somewhat of a friendship. She and my mother, were friends all through school. Miss Jennifer never went into heat, so she never found a mate. Miss Jennifer and my mother lost contact after, my mother became pregnant with me.

"Natalie," She sighed as she took me out into the hallway.

I sighed heavily. "I have already had this discussion with Sean..."

"No, I know that Natalie." Miss Jennifer muttered. "The problem I have is that there seems to be an increasing amount of new students. I just was wondering if there is..."

My cellular phone began to ring, that old fashion telephone ring.

I opened the old flip phone. "Hello?" I asked.

"Natalie, where are you?" William asked.

"I am coming," I replied.

"Alright, be careful." William worried.

"I will," I laughed.

I hung up the phone. "I have to go," I told Miss Jennifer.

"Of course, you have a good day at school!" Miss Jennifer called as I began to run down the hall.

I have to wonder why William is worried. I have only been gone for a few brief minutes... I forgot to say good-bye to Sean! I can't think about him right now, I just need to get to school.

I ran out into the parking lot as the rain began to fall. I ran to the car and got into the passenger seat. I closed the passenger side door and put my seat belt on.

William pulled out of the parking lot and onto the streets.

"Can you tell me what is wrong?" I asked keeping my eyes ahead on the road.

"Have you ever heard of the Hoppers?" William asked softly.

William stared at me dead in the eye. I looked at him softly, trying to keep myself looking innocent.

The Hoppers? Who are they and why are they concerning William? William never gets this nervous over something as simple as a group that sounds like a bunch of bunny rabbits. Maybe, they are some motorcycle gang? No! That is just plain stupid.

Perhaps the Hoppers are some mob that have come here to take over this section of the Untied States? I don't know!

Who are the Hoppers?
