Waiting for the school week to be over was exhausting and draining to say the least, but at least I had someone to cuddle.

It was finally the weekend and me, my mum and Mikey where getting ready to leave to the lake district, where we were all camping foe a week. The car ride that was pretty good we played music and sang along; good thing we all like the same music. An hour or so longer and we had gotten into the campsite and began to set up the tent. The tent was a bit difficult to set up. There where many poles and pegs. Putting up the tent in the heat had made us all really thirsty so we decided to get some juice and sit in the camping chairs. I liked the camping chairs there was 2 stripy ones, one yellow and another red-ish pink. The other one was a plain dark green one, they all had cup holders however so it didn't matter which one we used. I preferred the yellow one but that was claimed my Mikey and the red-ish pink one, my mum claimed so i was stuck with the green one; but like i said it didn't matter.

After sorting ourselves out my mum wanted to call my dad to tell him we arrived safely. Unfortunately there was no reception at the camp site and you had to drive 10 minutes up the narrow road until you got a signal. This meant that me and Mikey where alone for a bit. 'We should go for a wonder' i suggested Mikey jumped up 'Sure, hold one a mine though i need to try and find my coat, its a little cold.' I waited for him to put on his coat and then we began walking. We climbed over a little fence which was a little tricky to get over. Expect for Mikey, he nearly fell when putting his leg over. Thankfully he didn't because if he did, lets us say it would be painful, I'm sure you know what I'm getting at. Anyway after walking for a bit and climbing over some stone walls we came to a little stream that lead up a hill. The hill was a little steep but it wasn't steep enough that we couldn't climb it. So of course we decided to follow the stream up the hill. The stream was pretty and pretty much made out of rocks. We soon learned that the some rocks where not safe to stand on, but we worked around it. A little up stream we came to a tree surround by rocks. This was still apart of the stream which meant it was wet and slippy. The tree its self was beautiful but the landscape behind it was something else. I didn't notice that we where very high up until i took the time to sit on a rock near the tree and look down. The view was beautiful yet now again my eyes would wonder off to Mikey. From the rock we could see our tent (and the rest of the camp site) and after a few minutes we saw my mum pulled up next to the tent. 'We should probably continue walking up' I said and began to walk again 'Can we go back?' Mikey said i little out of breath still. 'Why ?' I asked ' because its going to get dark soon and I'm quite tired' he sighed and looked at me. I really wanted to continue heading higher but i clearly wasn't going to continue alone so agreed and we headed back down. Except a few little slips and getting a little wet from the stream we got back to the camp site safely.

'What were you too going all the way up there? i was really worried anything could have happened plus its getting dark and you didn't even tell me!' my mum seemed annoyed but she kept pretty calm 'sorry' we explained ' but did you see how high we were? we tried waving but i don't think you saw us' there was a few seconds of silence. 'Yes i did you. It was dangerous don't do it again okay?, now what do you guys what to eat tonight anyway? she asked. Me and Mikey weren't really that fussed what we ate, all i wanted was to have marshmallow's and a fire to melt them on. My mum agreed and sent me and Mikey to get some wood to burn on the fire. Getting some sticks was quite fun we saw a sheep's skull which i thought was pretty rad, Mikey however didn't really seem to care. On the say back Mikey suggested that we pick up the dry grass lying on the ground to get the fire started, so we did. Carrying it all back was funny, well it amused me at least.

When the it began to get dark we set up the fire and my mum began to cook sausages for ourselves. Half way though cooking them my mum wanted to call my dad again, so she left us in charge of the cooking. This was mistake. Mikey was poking the fire and keeping it alive while I looked after the sausages, I'm not the best at cooking and needless to say they were over cooked. One sausage in particular had fallen in the fire while i was turning it over and to be honest it looked like a black turd. 'I have an idea' Mikey said grabbing some string from inside the tent. He begin the tie the string to the sausage and he walked behind the tent. 'What are you doing?' i asked following behind him. He laughed as he tied the other end of the string to the tree 'Ta da' he laughed as he did the while hand jazz thing. I broke out in a laughing fit as did he and we spent the whole time until my mum came back about talking about luring animals with it. And children.

My mum came back with some marshmallow's and some metal stick to put them on 'Thanks mummy' I said hugging her 'Do you like our bate' Mikey asked point the the burnt turd hang off the tree by string. My mum began to laugh and sat down with 'Well since the sausages are burnt' she said looking at me with a smile on her face. She opened up the marshmallow's and passed Mikey and I a metal stick to put on. Cooking the marshmallow was pretty fun, the only thing bad about it is that they would start to fall off if they got to hot. This meant you would go and eat it before it fell off resulting in burning your mouth. However it was amusing to watch when it happen to someone else.

As the night got on my mum was tired and she decided to go to bed for the night. Which left me and Mikey alone once again. Like being alone with him, it was nice and I enjoyed talking to him. He was one of the funniest people I know. Later on after eating all the marshmallow's we got tired ourselves and lay under the stars. This is still the best memory I have to this day. I love stars and darkness I think it is once of the most beautiful thing to see in the world.

Me and Mikey didn't talk for a while we just lay on the ground gazing up at the sky. Every so often I would take a break from staring at the stars to look at Mikey, who I must say is equally as beautiful if not more so. After half an hour of looking at the stars and occasionally talking to Mikey, a shooting star shot across the dark blue night sky 'Wow look right there a shooting star' I almost yelled pointing at it. 'make a wish' Mikey whispered a voice that made me melt inside. I closed my eyes and made a wish and Mikey did the same. I could say what my wish is but i still want it to come true so I guess you as a reader will never know. Mikey turned to me and looked in to my eyes. 'Wow his eyes are perfect' i thought to my self as I smiled to him. 'What did you wish for?' he asked in the same voice as before 'I'm not telling I need it to come true, what did you wish for?' I asked but not telling him my wish 'I'm not telling you either'' he smiled and went back to looking at the night sky. I honestly couldn't have been happier in that moment if I tried. Its the best memory I have. We lay for a while seeing 2 more shooting stars and making 2 more wishes. I made the same wish 3 times. Both of us tied we went in the tent and fell asleep.
