Callies POV:
My pager went off, 911 to room 2025. That was Mark's room. Shit. I took off running down the hall and was lucky enough to catch an elevator right as it started to close. The whir of the elevator cables calmed me a bit. Time stood still, I watched the little light up numbers above the silver sliding doors. Praying that the 3rd floor light would flash. It did, finally. I exhaled, I guess I had been holding my breath that whole time. The sliding doors opened and I ran, fast.
I barreled into Mark's room expecting to see crash carts and people rushing around, but no, It was completely silent... until Mark's voice broke the silence. "There you are my beautiful, hot friend." Typical Mark, making rude jokes.
Arizona's POV:
"Hey you!" A voice I knew very well woke me from my sleep. Blinking away the sleep in my eyes I realized who the voice was. Mark was awake... wait... MARK WAS AWAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew that was a time to page Callie.
Mark was awake. That was amazing! He had been in a coma since... well... it must have been more then a month. We were giving up hope that we would ever see him again. I mean see him again as the Mark we knew, sexual, funny, inappropriate. But a miracle had happened he was awake!
"Hey Honey" I walked over to his bed "how are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling great!!" He smiled at me, that smile, I never thought that I would like that smile, but now, I loved it.
Callie burst into the room just as I started to say how much I loved him.
"There you are my beautiful, hot friend." He lit up as he say his best friend. I saw the look first of complete and utter sadness, but in a heart beat that turned into overflowing, bubbling happiness.
Callie POV:
"Hey you!" I cried, happy tears. I thought for sure we were going to have to let him go this time, but no. It was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders, Mark was awake! I ran over to the side of his bed, bent down a kisses him. Oh I had missed him. I looked up, Arizona was beaming at me. How lucky was I to have both my favorite people in one room, the only thing that could have made it better was having Sofia.
"Wheres my baby girl?" Mark asked, glowing.
"Hey Alex," Arizona yelled as Alex crossed in front of the open room door, "Can you please go get Sofia from daycare?"
"Oh hey Mark, how are you feeling?" Alex avoided the request from Arizona.
"I'm feeling great, I would be feeling better if my baby girl was here though"
"Oh if I am getting Sofia for you, I'll be back in a minute." Alex said, disregarding Arizona.
"Thank you Alex."
I glared at Alex, there was no reason for hi to be rude to my wife. Glancing at Arizona I realized how upset she looked.
Arizona's POV:
I called Alex as he walked past the open room door. He was the only one I trusted with my baby girl.
"Hey Alex, can you please go get Sofia from daycare?"
"Oh hey Mark!" Alex ignored me. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling great, I would be feeling better if my baby girl was here though" Mark responded.
"Oh if I am getting Sofia for you, I'll be back in a minute." Alex said, completely ignoring me.
At that moment I wasn't sure that I did trust Alex with my baby. What was his problem?
Alex was back in no time.
"Oh hey baby girl!" I cooed, Sofia giggled, I loved that giggle. I love my girl, and my amazing wife.
"Hey honey," Mark smiled at Sofia. "Can I hold her?"
"Of course" I replied. Alex handed Sofia over to Mark. Ok, Alex was good with the kids... He was just kind of duchy to the adults.
Mark baby talked Sofia and she laughed.
Mark's POV
Alex handed me Sofia, I didn't know how long it had been since I held her, it felt like forever. She reached out and touched my face. I started babbling to her "hey Sof, hows my baby? didja miss your papa?" I tickled her stomach and she tittered.
I glanced to my side and saw Arizona's smiling face, then glancing the other way I saw Callie gleaming, she was so sexy... as a friend. I wanted this moment to last forever, me holding my baby, surrounded by my loved ones.
I was still curious though, what happened to me? I remembered a plane... the woods... Cristina... Mer... Arizona... I rallied all my courage, and asked, not knowing if I really wanted to know the answer.
"Hey guys, what happened to me?" My voice cracked at the end... I was scared to learn the answer to that question, but at the same time, I needed to know.
I saw Callie and Arizona glance at each other, right as their pagers went off.
"I am so sorry Mark" Callie turned to me. "It's a 911, ER. I have to go, find an intern to take Sofia back to daycare."
"Me to" Arizona pipped up, "911 to the ER." They both kissed me on the cheek and ran.
Callie's POV
I felt bad, leaving Mark like that, but 1) I did not want to tell him, not yet. And 2) He needed rest. I ran, fast. Arizona ran at my side. We just missed the elevator.
"Crap!" Arizona cried. She slammed the button on the wall which portrayed a downward facing arrow. "Crap! Crap! Crap!"
"You okay babe?" I asked her. I knew she wasn't ok, I just wanted to support her, help her.
The elevator door slide open, damnit, the timing in this hospital I swear...We darted into the small box. "what floor?" A hospital visitor asked. "First Floor please." Arizona replied.
