"I'm sorry honey, I didn't think you would fall off the Rhyhorn." Grace said.

"Don't think, you're not very good at it." Serena replied to her mother, snidely, angered and frustrated with the Rhyhorn that threw her off its back earlier that afternoon. Grace had no reaction to her outburst, being a single mother, had learnt to put up with her daughter's antics, she never wanted her child to be sad. She picked up the remote and switched to the news channel, expecting nothing massive to have occurred. How wrong could she have been. As Serena sat down, the T.V. displayed live coverage of a boy with raven hair and a Pikachu. Of course these were the stars of the show. They were trying to calm down a distressed Garchomp.

"Mom, what's that kid doing on Prism Tower?" Serena asked worriedly, something was sparking in her brain, she couldn't tell what it was.

"I have no idea honey." Grace gasped. Serena's mind was on fire. She didn't know what was happening until...

"Wait a sec, I think, I know him..." Serena's mind finally calmed down. That was it, she knew that boy.

"I doubt it Sere but... look!" Grace cut herself off directing Serena's attention to the T.V. The Pikachu had fallen from the collapsed balcony of the tower. What happened next amazed both mother and daughter, and spectators off the event. The raven haired boy jumped off the side of the building and glided down towards the Pikachu. He clasped the yellow mouse in his hand and held it close to is chest as they fell.

"AAHHH!" Grace yelled afraid of what was to come. Serena could only produce one word...

"Wow." she whispered, starry eyed. "That boy really loves that Pikachu."

"Look at this ladies and gentlemen, the boy has jumped to save his Pikachu, what a bond!" The news reporter said, ignoring the nearing death of the boy. Suddenly a blaze, maybe a fireball engulfed the boy and the Pikachu. It almost teleported, as it moved a lighting speed. It moved far away from the crowd carrying the boy and its Pikachu with it. It successfully brought it away from the raging crowd. The huge fireball was quickly revealed to be a Pokemon by a nearby cameraman, it was a Blaziken, as the fire Pokemon jumped away upon the roofs of houses, the camera panned capturing the silhouette of a rather bulky man. No physical features could be seen, just a shadow in the dark. As the pair disapeared the cameraman aproached the boy and began asking question of his own while broadcasting to all the major News channels. The cameraman asked for the boy's name and age.

"My name is Ash Ketchum, I'm fourteen years old! This is my best friend Pikachu!" The boy, or, Ash said. Serena began to remember more about the boy now that she had heard his name. 'Could it be?' she thought.

"Hey Sere, that boy Ash, with the Pikachu, he's your age and already has so many Pokemon, maybe it's time you started your own journey."

"But you always wanted me to be a Rhyhorn racer like you." Serena said sadly.

"Yes, but I see how unhappy you are with the challenge, and my sport isn't for everyone. One thing I have noticed is how you react with the Rhyhorn, you've formed strong bonds with each of them. That was something I found very interesting."

"You think I have what it takes mom!" Serena exclaimed, now giddy rather than upset. If she went on a journey, she could meet the Ash boy, that she so wanted to see.

"Of course I do, I will always believe in you my little Serenity!" Grace said happily with a huge grin on her face.

"Thanks mom!" Serena shouted whilst bear hugging Grace.

"That's okay baby. But if you're gonna go on a journey you need to get some rest, you should go to sleep now." Grace suggested.

"Okay mom, I will." Serena lied, knowing that she would remain awake the entire night thinking about her future...
