Chapter Six

Desire

Krishna was floored. Twenty minutes this guy - this unbelievably gorgeous, yet completely annoying, guy - had been following her around. When he sat down, without speaking a word, she wasn’t sure whether to slap him or call him every name in the book. So she did the only thing she could do at the time. She finished her food in silence. The entire time he watched her without saying a word, and every time she opened her mouth to say something sarcastic, she would notice the way his eyebrow would twitch in his amusement, or the way his smirk would start off one sided, before the left side of his mouth caught up, or the way he would flip his head to the right in an attempt to move his fringe from his eyes. He was not only attractive, but cute too. And that pissed her off.

There weren’t many men that caught her eye over the years, and for one to do so now … made her want to scream on objection.

For Riley, he couldn’t help but be amused with this girl. His mate. She was hot, that was obvious. Even the human men thought so, as he would catch them from the corner of his eye looking at her. But, the way she remained seated and threw his silent glares back at him, continuing on with her meal as if his presence wasn’t bothering her, he had to fight the lingering chuckle several times. She was feisty. Two minutes with her and he already knew that. He could tell it was taking a lot of self mediation to remain calm and not speak her mind to him.

He was more than happy when she finished her food and rose to leave. This joint was getting under his skin with its horrid aroma and yappy people. She gave him a run for his money as they left. Even though she gained speed and placed distance between them when on her bike, he already knew he could find her if he wanted. Their souls were linked whether she knew it or not and he would follow her anywhere.

Krishna smiled when she pulled into the motel parking lot to see her stranger had not followed her. But that celebration of solitude was short lived as she sensed being watched once more and turned from the office towards her room to see him already standing outside of it.

“Unbelievable,” she mumbled to herself. Attractiveness was no excuse for stalking in her book and this guy was top notch. He had followed her around McDonalds, into the parking lot, down the highway and onto back roads, and now to the motel. If it wasn’t that the food had yet to work its magic leaving her still exhausted and closer to weak, she would have turned around and left.

Instead, she put on an ‘everything is fine’ face and stalked over to the room’s door. “Okay, I give. Tell me what it is you want so you can have it and leave.” She broke the silence with a level, nonchalant tone while resting one hand on her hip, the other holding her helmet and pack, while staring directly into his eyes. She figured, if nothing else, she would utilize the last of her energy compelling him to leave her alone. Even if she wasn’t fond of doing so.

Riley’s heart began to race just enough for them both to notice; Krishna with a smirk and Riley with a nervous smile. He didn’t understand why he suddenly felt so nervous. Sure, he was nervous before hand, but once he laid eyes on her, those nerves had been replaced with courage. Now he felt like a child. A teenage boy chasing after the prized cheerleader.

“To take you out,” he said in quick cover-up to his fluttering heartbeat. He didn’t know why he said that. It wasn’t something he thought before hand. Hell, it wasn’t even something he had ever done. Girls tended to flock towards him. Until now, he never had the need to woo one. So why would he consider dating one? Yet this is exactly what he just suggested and now his nerves were bouncing around worse because he hadn’t a clue how to court a female.

He worried about doing or saying something wrong, and she now worried this guy was going to be a handful. Unable to keep it in at how ridiculous a suggestion this guy just threw at her, she laughed.
