She dreamed of flying

But she does not have wings to fly.

She will fly and she will be gone

From this world full of suffering.

She closed her eyes,

Wishing when she opens it

Wings will be flapping behind.

To her disappointment – still none.

“Why can’t human be an angel?”

She began to ask herself.

Tears then stream from her eyes.

She’s tired of all the challenges

That comes along her way.

She’s looking for a temporary escape

A refuge from life’s raging storms

Her shoulders already heavy of burden

Though she’s only eighteen

She asked God, “Why is life so unfair?”

Endless sobs come next

And a repetition of her why’s.

Then she fell into state of unconsciousness

Still dreaming she has wings.

The soft breeze touching her face,

Wake her up and then she realized...

She’s aloft, cradled like a baby

On an angels wing’s she’s flying...

She found joy and serenity.
