AN: sorry it's taken so long to upload a new part, I've been really busy with school, and had a Spanish speaking exam, so I haven't had a lot of time to write. My apologies. Hope you all enjoy this part, and thanks for reading! :)
Cassandra POV
"Ezekiel," I say, looking up at him. "I have to do this. I need to save Lucy."
"I know. But that doesn't mean I have to like it." Ezekiel huffed. " I want you to stay here. Nice and safe. I don't know Lucy. She doesn't matter to me. You, on the other hand, matter to me quite a lot. Maybe even more than pizza."
That is a lot. Ezekiel lives on pizza. He couldn't live without it. Is this his way of telling me he couldn't live without me?
"I'm a Librarian, Ezekiel. It's my job to save innocents. I cannot and will not leave her on some other dimensional plane with a giant flesh eating-tentacle monster."
"But what if you get stuck on said dimensional plane, with a monster that wants to eat your flesh."
"I swear, I will not get eaten. And I will save Lucy."
"It's a good thing I trust you. You better come back to me." Ezekiel replied snaking his arm around my waist. He leaned down and kissed me. "Oh, definitely." I sighed. "Especially if there will be more of that when I get back."
"When you get back? How about before you go?" Ezekiel laughed, before kissing me again, locking me in his grasp.
Things got heated quickly, and suddenly we were both desperately pulling each other closer, as if we were trying to memorise every inch of each other, just in case the unthinkable happened. Ezekiel pulled back slightly so we could breathe, before immediately crushing his lips against mine, harder than before. Soon we were again lost in the violent, all consuming storm of emotion that surrounded us, expressed through our need to be in each other's arms. The longing to be as close as two people can be, both physically and mentally, devoured us.
My hands wandered over his shirt, before they slipped underneath. The hard muscle of his chiselled abdomen was smooth. Ezekiel shuddered under my touch. "Your hands are bloody freezing." Ezekiel laughed. He grabbed my hands and pulled them from underneath his shirt. He rested them on top of the fabric again, then cupped my cheek with one hand, and placed the other on my hip. He kissed down my neck, to the edge of my garish floral shirt, before undoing the top three buttons to expose the freckled skin of my chest.
Ezekiel placed delicate kisses along my collar bones, as I began to slowly lift his shirt. He pulled away, lifted his shirt over his head and tossed it across the room, before he moved on to mine. It joined his over on the floor. For a moment we just stood there, taking in every inch of each other. Ezekiel's broad muscular shoulders and structured abdominal muscles were very impressive. He clearly liked what he saw too, as his jaw was practically on the floor. I raised my eyebrow, before stepping back in, and kissing along his defined jaw, which was still hanging open.
He placed his hands on my face, and moved it back to his, kissing my lips again. It was when he began to trail away again, that I noticed the lifeless eyes staring at us from the corner of the room. I opened my eyes to see the lifeless eyes of that stupid gargoyle looking clinically depressed whilst staring straight at Ezekiel and I. I clear my throat. "Ezekiel..." I whisper. "Your gargoyle is staring at us."
"His name is Stumpy." Ezekiel said sternly, while turning his head towards the crest-fallen creature.
"Fine, Stumpy is staring at us." I correct myself. "It's interrupting."
"Stumpy, go away, boy." The gargoyle ignored his master's plea, refusing to budge. "I'm sorry Cassandra." Ezekiel apologised, "He's not going anywhere'"
"It's okay. We got a little carried away, anyway." I laughed, glancing at the shirts that had somehow landed on the shelves behind Stumpy. "We need to go. We have a tentacle monster to stop."
"We?" Ezekiel spluttered.
"Yes, we, you're the bait." I told Ezekiel. "You're the only one of us with a big enough ego to keep the monster occupied while I go in to save Lucy."
"Okay, that's true, and I won't feel so guilty for letting you do this. I know I'll be helping you do what you need to do."
I kiss him one last time, before moving to put my shirt back on. Once I had buttoned it all the way up, I tossed Ezekiel his. He pulled it over his head and walked over to me. He patted stumpy on the head and grabbed my hand.
"Let's go find the others." I pull him out the room.
