Helping hand

(Gabriel Pov)

I walked through the base as I felt slightly regretful but confident at the same time. Something strange had been happening to me lately.. Something I can't really explain to anyone.. now and then my body forms a small black mist when I get angry or hurt sometimes...

I don't know who to talk to about it.. Jack wouldn't understand! He's too full of pride for HIS damn Overwatch! Taking in all the praise and love!.. We used to be close but now I feel more distanced to him now...

Over the year Genji has excelled in his training. Him and Jesse had grown to be close friends but of course Jesse hasn't sorted out his attitude yet!

Genji had passed every test I've given him. Every mission he has been on has been a success, even the ones with dumb Jesse distracting him all the time! I still haven't had a single moment's peace with that kid around!

(Genji Pov)
The time had almost reached 'high noon' as my new pal McCree would like to call it! Dr Ziegler still wasn't in and I.... I was worried. Should I go find her? Or should I trust her?

I paced frequently around my room as I thought out my situation. What to do? What to do? I questioned myself over and over.

I couldn't let her face this alone, there must be something wrong! I quickly raced to the hard Locked door. I searched it quickly but it had no handle. It was an automatic sliding door that required a key card or eye scan.

I quickly glanced around my room to see my large glass window. Angela is going to hate me for breaking it! In one quick movement I swift-striked forward and out of the window. It's smash was loud and probably alerted some people.

I quickly climbed up the tall wall of the building and dashed forward to find Angela's testing quarters. I wasn't quite sure where they were as I had never been there before. I'd need some help!

I sprinted through the base in search for help. Dashing around sharp corners and through big hallways. Until I came across a tall male standing at the end of a corridor. I recognized him instantly. It was the commander Jack Morrison!

"Commander!!" I called as I screeched to a stop in front off him. He looked surprised as I wasn't usually out on my own.

"Genji? What's up?" He asked in a calm tone as he faced me.

"It's Dr Ziegler she hasn't been to see me all morning and I can't find her anywhere!" I said in a rush.

The commander suddenly became worried as he began to Sprint down the corridor.

"Come with me! We got to see if she is safe!" He commanded as he began to head quickly down the base and to Angela's quarters.

As we reached her door the commander came to a sudden stop. I quickly slowed down and stood next to him as he knocked down hard on the door.

"ANGELA are you ok!" He called hoping for an answer. There was a moment's silence as we both waited for a response.

"ANGELA!!" He yelled again but this time much louder. Once again there was a small silence.

"...Jack?...." her voice was weak and faint.

"Angela I'm coming in - get back from the door!!" He commanded as he fired his rockets at the door and blasting it open.

We both swiftly ran in and began to search for her. I dashed into the room quickly and turned my head to see her struggling to sit up. She was laying across the ground that was painted with her rose red blood.

"Dr Ziegler!" I yelled as I ran quickly to her. She glanced up weakly to me as she tried to pull herself up. I held her arm and helped her to carefully sit up.

"Angela oh my god what happened?" Asked the commander as he lent down to help heal her. We both stared down with worried faces as we both cared a lot for her.

"Can't you heal?" Jack asked quickly as he lent down next to her.

"...no.. I can't" her voice was still weak as she sat on the ground leaning her head on my chest for support.

"We need Ana, she can help you!" He said quickly as he held his phone up to his ear to call Anna Amari to join us.

We continued to ask Angela questions as Ana made her way to us. Ana would be able to help us as she was skilled in medicine like Angela was. She entered quickly and rested down close to Angela.

"What happened to her?" Asked Ana as she unpacked her medical equipment.

"We don't no! She has been sick ever since we got back from the last mission in Hollywood" Jack explained quickly and clearly.

"She has been infected by some sort of toxin, its very strong!" Ana said as she scanned and healed Angela's wounded body.

"It resembles that of the substance that you and Gabriel got injected for that soldier project!... but it seems different.. it's been modified in a bad way, I'm not quite sure what it's going to do to her!" Ana explained honestly as she tried her best to think of solutions.

I felt my heart sink as I didn't want anything bad to happen to her, I loved her with all my heart. I just had to hope for the best.

"Is she going to ...die?" I asked in a sad and quiet tone.

"What Genji?" Ana asked confused as she didn't hear what Genji said.

"Is she going to die!!?" I asked in a much louder voice now. I felt overly distressed and angry. I couldn't control my emotions as my tears built up from under my metal mask.

Both Jack and Ana froze as they noticed my neon parts on my body had begun to glow much brighter that usual. 

"Genji we have to let Ana take her to the medical room so we can find out how this happened!" Jack commanded with a stern tone to try and calm me down.

"Yes I should be able to look after her there" Ana explained as they began to escort Angela to a hospital bed.

I followed them closely as they carried Angela to the medical center. They placed her body down on one of the examination beds. Ana started up a healing machine that placed a glass dome around her body.

I watched as she lay still under the shiny dome, a soft gold light shone down at her as she lay resting.

"This will keep her alive whilst we find out how this happened" Ana explained as she finished activating the machine.

Ana and Jack spoke to each other as I watched Angela's sleeping face. She seemed so peaceful but yet so sad.

"It must have been deliberate!?" Jack insisted to Ana.

"Well it is a coincidence that as soon as we got back from that mission she was sick the next day!" Jack said shapely.

"Well who was the last to see her?" Ana asked confidently.

"Gabriel took her to her room after the mission so he would have been the last!" Jack answered as they stoped in silence.

"Did Gabriel do this to her?" I asked as I turned my head slowly to face them both.

"We don't know that Genji and anyway I trust Gabriel with my life so I'm sure it's not him!" Jack said in a slight yell.

"Well let's go find him them" Ana said as Jack reached for his phone to contact Gabriel.

He held the phone to his ear as he finished dialing Gabriel's number. He waited for a moment but he got no reply from Gabriel....

"Dam it Gabe! Answer!... He should be on duty right now" Jack yelled in frustration as he wanted to trust his friend and didn't want to think that Gabriel did this. Ana placed her hand softly on Jack's shoulder.

"Go find him Jack, I can look after Angela" Ana said as she tried to reassure him.

"Ok! Genji I need you to stay here with Ana ok? Help her with what ever she needs you to do" he commanded.

"Yosh!" I replied as he headed quickly out of the room.
