Emily yawned, stretching in her king sized bed. She rubbed her eyes tiredly, reaching her hand over to the left side of the bed in search for her husband, Jasper. Emily felt his smooth skin on his arm, slowly making her way down to his large hand. She squeezed his fingers and he squeezed hers back.
"Good morning my lovely," he turned his body so he faced Emily.
"Morning sleepy," she mumbled back, unhooking their fingers. Jasper smiled and Emily traced her fingers down his bare chest, reaching his defined 6 pack.
"That tickles," he mumbled sleepily, chuckling quietly. Emily smiled, pulling her hand off of Jasper's chest.
Emily slowly slid out of bed. She tiredly walked into the bathroom, glancing at herself in the mirror.
Her hair was sticking up everywhere and she had bags under her tired eyes. Emily never got sleep anymore, nightmares of Mr. Harmon and Hide and Seek haunting her every sleep.
And when Emily finally got any sleep, their baby started crying. Emily slowly found herself hating being a parent, but sometimes it was worth it. I mean, babies are really, really cute. Especially Ruby.
Emily turned on the shower handle, adjusting the temperature so it was warm. She undressed, feeling her still slightly round stomach.
"I need to work out more," Emily grumbled before stepping into the warm shower and letting the droplets soak her hair and make their way down her body and onto the marble shower floor.

After the shower, Emily felt refreshed. She quickly threw on a sweatshirt and leggings, making her way to Ruby's room.
She entered the small, pink room to find Ruby sucking on her toes in her crib.
"Well, aren't you a hungry baby!" Emily cooed at her one year old daughter. Emily gently grabbed Ruby out of her small crib, setting her on the changing table. She took off Ruby's nightclothes and tickled her stomach. Ruby giggled and made adorable baby noises. Emily picked out a white undershirt with a pink tutu, slipping the clothes on the tiny baby before grabbing her blanket and heading downstairs.

Emily was greeted by the smell of fresh pancakes when she reached the kitchen. Jasper was pouring pancake batter in a frying pan. He had flour all over his face and in his hair, and he had spilled a little bit of batter on the counter.
"You better clean that up, dear," Emily kissed Jasper on the cheek and then set Ruby down in her high chair.
"Daddy," Ruby squeaked adorably, reaching out for Jasper, bouncing around in the chair. Her tiny little fingers flexed as her father approached. Jasper reached Ruby and kissed her on the cheek and she responded by giving him a slobbery kiss back.
Jasper walked back to the gas stove and flipped the pancakes before flipping them onto the plate. He turned off the stove and brought the warm pancakes over to the table and set one on Ruby's tray, cutting them up into small pieces and pouring a small amount of syrup onto the pancakes. Ruby picked them up with her tiny hands and stuffed them into her mouth immediately.
Emily and Jasper sat down with Ruby and began to cut up their own pancakes. Jasper was a very good cook, except for the mess he made. Otherwise, the pancakes were delicious.
"Thanks for making breakfast Jasper," Emily got up and took her plate to the sink, rinsing it off and placing it on a drying rack with the other dishes.
"You're welcome honey," Jasper responded, rinsing his plate off as well. He pulled a milk bottle from the cabinets and scooped some baby powder in it, filling the bottle with water. Jasper shook it fiercely and then gave it to Ruby, who had finished her breakfast as well.
Emily grabbed Ruby out of her high hair and sat on the couch. She turned on Ruby's favorite show, Elmo, and began playing with Ruby's soft baby hair. Emily braided Ruby's auburn hair while Ruby clapped to Elmo's theme song.
Jasper walked down the stairs in his tuxedo, kissing Emily and Ruby on the cheek.
"I'm off to work, I'll be back at 5:00. Love you Emily, wuv you Ruby," he waved at his wife and his daughter before walking out of the door.
Emily kissed Ruby and got up, setting her down on the leather couch.
"I'll be back, I just have to go get a snackie snack," Emily cooed at Ruby. She turned her back on Ruby, who was watching Elmo, and headed into the kitchen.
Emily grabbed a box of Cheerios and poured some into a bowl. She grabbed the plastic bowl and walked back into the living room.
"Here you go Ru..." she paused as she looked on the couch and Ruby was no where to be seen.
Where she was moments before was a book. A very familiar book. And there was a crimson red letter taped to the top of it.
