Te Amo

Warning: This is dark af. I tried not to get graphic, but contains torture and mutilation and assisted self-mutilation, if that's a thing? Little more complicated than that but I think that covers it.

The sound of footsteps entering the room drew your attention and you looked up from your position on the sofa, smiling as you saw your mate practically bounced into the room, an obvious spring in his step as he flopped down into the seat beside you, leaning into you to nuzzle against your neck. You set your worn but well-loved first edition copy of [fave book] (a signed gift from the author him/herself back in [year]) to one side and smiled as you wrapped your arms around him, shifting on the sofa so that you were hugging him against you.

"What are you still doing here?" You questioned, recalling Gabriel's warning that he would be gone for most of the day. It was barely noon. "You can't have finished everything you needed to do already."

"No, he's just taking the chance to annoy us all some more before he leaves." You heard Dean's voice call playfully from down the hall cutting off your mate as he opened his mouth to answer you. You rolled your eyes, pulling an arm back from around him so that you could delicately trace his jawline with your finger, hearing him purr as you tilted his head back in order to grant him a single small, chaste kiss.

"I'll need to leave soon." Gabriel told you and you pouted a little, hand cupping his cheek as you hugged him close, large wings curling round from your back to engulf him as you often did if one of you was upset. This was your safe place, your way of creating a small world in which only the two of you existed. It was something that you had been doing much more frequently when your lover had returned to you after his ordeal with Lucifer. Gabriel smiled at you, softly and sincerely, as he leaned forward in order to press his lips to yours once more, and you allowed him to deepen the kiss, your tongues dancing together briefly before he reluctantly pulled away. "I should go," he admitted softly, and you parted your wings to allow him the space to stand, his fingers trailing along your skin as he walked away, offering you a small parting smile as he left.

When he was gone you let out a loud huff and dropped your head back on the armrest, reaching to the side table somewhere above you in order to reclaim [fave book]. Ever since Lucifer you had been afraid every time Gabriel left your side for any more than an hour or so. You closed your eyes briefly as you took in a deep breath to calm your nerves and tried to focus on your reading, attempting to drive out any other thoughts.

"_____." You sat bolt upright in surprise as the sudden gruff voice sounded out from nearby, dropping your book as you turned to stare wide-eyed at Castiel. You were fond of the strange angel, you really were, but he had to be doing this on purpose.

"Cas," you sat up properly in your seat and shuffled over to the armrest in order to give him the space to sit down with you if he wished to. "Do you need anything?"

"There seems to be some suspicious demon activity in Pennsylvania." He told you, getting straight to the point as he so often did. "Sam and Dean want me to look into a situation involving some shapeshifters in Florida, so I can't look into this myself. I was hoping you might see what's going on."

"I can do that." You told him quickly, your restless mind eagerly latching on to the opportunity to get out of the bunker and do something - anything - in the hopes that it would distract you from worrying about Gabriel. "Anything I should know before I go?"

"I have nothing for you, that's why I wanted to check it out in the first place." Castiel told you helpfully as you got to your feet and stood on tiptoe to fetch your angel blade from where you stashed it on top of the cabinet in the corner (you knew better than to leave it lying around in plain sight with children in the house). "Thank you for this."
