*Kates P.O.V*
"Kate..wake up beautiful, we're here"
I slowly blinked and turned to look at George, he was smiling down at me and I could feel the warmth of his jacket wrapped around me. His jacket smelled of him and I inhaled because it was comforting. "Where are we?" I sat up slowly stretching.
He got out of the car and opened my door for me. I pulled his jacket on and looked around as he shut the door. It was stunning. It wasn't quite sunset, but I guessed that's thats what we were here for. We were parked on the cliffs of a beach and I could see a little stoned path running down towards the sea. The moon was high and it was glistening on the water. The air was clean and fresh and the breeze was warm for this time of year. There was even a red sky..everything was perfect. "George...this is beautiful I..I don't know what to say" I stuttered. "Dont say anything" he smiled and intertwined his fingers in mine. "Just follow me" he said, his eyes looking at me lovingly.
We took a walk down the path that led us to the sea and the tide was high. He took me down the beach to a little area that looked like a forest. We were surrounded by cliffs with caves hidden deep inside. It was magical.
"This was my favourite place as a child" he admitted, looking at the floor in front of him as we walked a steady pace. "We used to come here every summer, it gave me such happy memories" he smiled at me "but I want to make new ones..with you" I grabbed him and kissed him without thinking, I don't know why, but he just seemed so vunerable and open in that very moment and I wanted him to know how I truly felt.
"that was a suprise" he giggled as I pulled away. "yeah well, you wanted me to share my feelings and I am" I smiled at him. "well you can do that anytime" he laughed winking at me.
"This is it" he said proudly. There was a small clearing and there were trees on either side, there was a huge rock ledge covered with ivy, protecting the opening of the cave from the wind. He ducked his head to get inside and I followed him. He lay on his back and I cuddled into him, my hand on his chest and my head on his shoulder. We lay in comfortable silence for a while until george spoke.
"This is the moment I brought you here for" he smiled. I followed the direction of his eyes and then I saw what he meant. The sunset.
The sky just above the sea was dark red which faded out into black. The last slither of the sun could be seen just above the sea so far in the distance it seemed unreachable. The first few stars were visible right above us and I felt so happy right in that moment. "Thank you for sharing this with me George" I stroked his chest. "Shhh, I'm thanking you for being here with me"
"George?" I whispered
"mhmm?" I could feel his heartbeat quicken under my head.
"I love you"
