victor woke up in a cold sweat, scared from the dream he had just had. he could see the sun peeking in through the cracks in the window, telling him he had slept for at least a good twelve hours.

he looked around, wanting to believe that yesterday was a dream, but in fact, it was very much a reality. victor laid back down on his pillow, not wanting to move from the spot on his bed. although the day would be like all the others, today victor felt genuinely unhappy. the events of yesterday left him wanting more of something he knew he couldn't have, and he just could not stand that thought.

he hit the wall, angry with the world. no, not the world, but lilia. she was the one who had restricted him from exploring all these years, and for what reason? what was keeping them both restricted from the open world? victor wanted an answer; he was going to demand it.

as if on queue, lilia unlocked the door and walked into the room with victor's breakfast, laying it down at his vanity. she started walking towards the bed and took a seat on the edge of it. victor scooted away from her, deciding to just stand up. he was still in his clothes from yesterday, but not caring the slightest bit.

"lilia, i have to know, what is out there that you're so scared of? i'm a grown man and if i want to leave and venture on my own, then by god i should be able to!" victor yelled, punching the hard concrete wall.

"victor, victor, victor...," lilia said, walking towards him, "you don't know what you're talking about. there are terrible, awful things out there and i'm only trying to protect you. remember, mother knows best, and you shouldn't take that life of yours for granted." she finished, placing a kiss on victor's cheek while his head was in another world.

lilia was walking to the door before she stopped to say something else.

"and if you ever see that man again, yuuri katsuki, leave immediately. that's an order." she said, slamming the door shut and locking it.

victor listened to lilia's footsteps slowly become softer as she went down the large stairwell. he threw the platter of food against his wall, but missing and hitting his window instead. victor laid back down in his bed, not feeling any sort of motivation to move anytime soon. he began to sob into his pillow, nothing on his mind except yuuri.

days passed, and victor had barely moved; he walked from his bed to his vanity and back, only to grab small amounts of the food lilia brought for him. he eyed the blocked up window, seeing a small sliver of sunlight coming in from a slit in the wood. he squinted, not being used to seeing much light in twenty four hours. while eyeing the light, victor's brain sparked an idea.

he ran from his bed to grab the chair that laid beside his vanity and hit it against the window as hard as he could. it took several back breaking tries, but he eventually broke it open. he climbed out onto the balcony, running to the railing and grabbing onto the rope that was still hanging from a few days ago. he looked back, knowing he was once again disobeying lilia. this time, victor didn't care. he wanted to see yuuri again, even if it costed him the freedom he had left.

victor slowly lowered himself down until he reached the ground. once he did, he began running as fast as his legs could take him. he traveled on a path that was obviously heavily traveled on and the path that vicchan most likely went down. his breath was heavy, but he refused to give up; victor was going to see yuuri again even if it took every remaining breath out of him.

before victor knew it, he had reached the field where he and yuuri had almost kissed. he stared over at it, wishing he could have the day with yuuri back with the exception of the terrible things that happened. victor suddenly came to the realization that he may be running for someone who is dozens of miles away. yuuri may have been taken back to the kingdom or even worse— dead.
