I woke up with butterflies in my stomach and a very anxious feeling throughout my entire body. Lacey was fast asleep next to me, not even bothered in the slightest by the fact that Pancake was practically on top of her.
I reach towards the nightstand and grab my phone. It was just after nine thirty, which meant my mother would be here soon with breakfast for Lacey, Rachel and I. Rachel was on the couch, since she insisted on me being in the bed (Lacey was already asleep when that conversation happened).
I had a few texts: one from Grace letting me know that she'd just gotten to the resort (she attended the Haters Back Off premiere so she wasn't able to come to the rehearsal dinner), one from Raina saying that I'm lucky that she loves me so much because she had to share a bed with John and nearly got smacked in the face (nothing new), and one from Harry telling me good morning and that he can't wait to see me later today.
"Hey," Rachel whispers as she comes into the room. "Your mom just called me and let me know that she's picking up breakfast right now so she'll be here soon."
I nod. She comes over and takes Pancake off of Lacey, then hands her to me. I can see the mischievous glint in her eyes as she looks at Lacey. Without a second thought, Rachel jumps on Lacey, fully laying down on her. Lacey lets out a small scream, either from being scared or from annoyance towards Rachel... I'm not sure which. Honestly the thing that upset me was that it made Pancake run away when she was cuddling up to my chest.
"First of all, fuck you Rachel. Second of all, holy shit Ava it's your wedding day!"
Lacey shoves Rachel off of her, then reaches over and tackles me. She gives me a tight hug and mumbles that she's proud of me in my ear.
We all lay on the bed and talk up until my mom arrives with food. Not too long after we finish eating, about an hour or so later, Grace and Raina show up as well as Lou, Lottie, Lux, Rose, and Gabbie. Grace and Raina bring in the flowers, while the others bring in the hair and makeup supplies.
"Okay, now that everything is here we should go set up the tables," my mom suggests. I nod, slipping on my shoes and a jacket. We carry all of the supplies and decorations outside, setting them out on the ground.
We start by setting up the rest of the tables and chairs, then we put the tablecloths on. Lacey and I start attaching the flower pieces that we had for the chairs onto the backs of them, while my mom pins down the tablecloths. Grace and Rachel start setting up the decorations by the alter, while my hair and makeup superheroes set up the temporary dance floor. I was glad our property here was as big as it was; it made it so we could set everything out all at once instead of having to take a break in between the ceremony and the reception.
Lux comes over and helps me, bringing me the flower pieces as I move from chair to chair. Eventually I switch places with Rachel, going over to help my mom with hanging the lights. Once that's done, we start decorating the tables. Lou and Lottie had set up the food area, as well as decorated everything around it.
We were done in about two hours. Anne and Gemma showed up with Sarah, who was arriving with her catering crew (the crew that went on tour with the boys). They set up what they need to, then leave and say they'll be back about an hour before the ceremony - which started at four, so only a little under five hours from now.
"Okay, Rachel and Lacey, can you set up all of the signs along the road? And Ava, we should set up the decorations around the cabin. Like the one's on the stairs and such. Trey is going to be here soon so he can film the scenery before everybody starts to arrive. And the photographer will be here soon too, I believe."
"Mom," I say, laughing lightly as I grab her hand. "Calm down, take a few deep breaths. You're more stressed about this than I am and it's my wedding day."
