A/N: Hey all! Please read this!!!

So I am kind of just writing now for my own pleasure, I like this story but I am really busy, plus not many people read it. If I get votes on stories then I tend to update those, as of right now, that is just this story and "Fall Equinox" (go read it now!! lol).

SO please leave a comment, or favorite, or vote. Criticism always helps me become better (as long as it is helpful criticism and not someone just being rude).

Hope all is well with any of those who remain my faithful readers!

As I made my way to the kitchen, I could lightly hear the chatter of Eugene and a few maids. They were talking in hushed tones, but I could easily pick up on their words. It felt wrong to eavesdrop, but something told me i had to listen.

"She's in danger-"

"Allie, she'll be fine I-"

"She's not like us”. This Allie person said harshly.

"She will only be here for a day. I will look after her, plus Catherine has taken a liking to her." Eugen said, reassuring the maid. At the mention of Catherine, I tried to listen more intently, wondering why that was important.

"But, Eugene, there's something different about her. It's too dangerous. What was he thinking!" Allie sounded worried, as did Eugene, but he was sure of himself. He had confidence that many could only wish to possess. I had a sinking feeling that they were talking about me.

"She'll be fine Allie."

"Don't you sense it as well. She's not like us, but she doesn't seem completely-" Eugene shushed her. That's when I decided to make my entrance known. Padding my feet a bit louder than necessary. I walked closer to the kitchen and gently opened the door, feigning a surprised look.

"Oh, hello Eugene, and you must be Allie...?" I nodded towards the maid. He nodded, giving me a slightly tense smile. "Mind if I use the kitchen?" I asked, a genuine smile gracing my face.

"If you need anything made-" Eugene began.

"No thank you Eugene, I like to cook. It makes me feel, like me." I smiled at him, reassuring him I could handle myself in the kitchen. As I made my way around the kitchen, I was excited that they had everything and more for all of my baking and cooking needs. I decided first to make simple chocolate chip cookies that my boys were crazy about, and then made rosemary cookies with jam centers. I went crazy with baking. Baking anything and everything I had remembered the recipes when my grandmother and I had baked as a child. Allie and Eugene looked amused as they watched me calmly fly around the kitchen, my hands expertly cracking eggs and pouring unmeasured ingredients into bowls. In the kitchen, I was gracefull, it was my domain. Where I belonged, but not in the sense because I was a woman, but because it was were I felt comfortable, in control.

By the time I was done baking and moving on to cooking real food, I had made four different cookies, two cakes, and home-made brownies.

"I'm starved, anyone else want anything to eat?" I asked. They slowly nodded their heads. Shock clear in their faces. "Good." I smiled. I started with taco dip hummus. I set them out with chips and we happily munched. Looking at the clock, I saw that it read three a.m. "Well, I don't know about you guys, but I don't think that this will tie me over." Slowly, and reluctantly, both of them nodded. Shock was evident in their eyes, as I began to prepare even more food. But what shocked me the most, was that they were still awake, watching me. Eyes glazed over with curiosity. I wondered if they were still awake because I was cooking food and they were hungry, or if their curiosity, and apparent weariness of me, won over being sleep deprived.
