PROLOGUE
I'm Jenivive Genesis. Well, everyone calls me "Jen". I'm 14 years old and I'm a third year high school student of Lightning Mirage Academy. That's a really high-level for a school, I tell you. The academy has a very advanced necessity, that's why I chose that school. What I like most in that academy? THE LIBRARY. I love books, and I'm probably obsessed to them. Well, there are many areas in that academy that are really amazing. They have vast cafeteria, well-conditioned music rooms, swimming pools for P.E. subjects, etc. Everything is there. You see, the academy is basically for rich kids. And I am not rich. To enter the academy, I became a scholar. That is why, I am very much conscious with my grades and performances. Though I may seem not very athletic, I excel academically.
I'm actually selfish. I don't care in anything but myself. I don't even know the names and faces of my first and second year classmates. I'm so dedicated with my studies that I don't even care what's happening in the world. When I'm doing something, I usually make myself work at my best. I don't have time to worry about other people. I don't need to smile. But, sometimes... I find myself staring at the blue sky and start wondering "Maybe, I'll live like this in my entire life". I don't know why I seemed unhappy and not contented during that time. Maybe, because I just lack something that even I couldn't grasp.
I don't have friends. I'm always alone. In everything I do, I'm always on my own. I totally suck at teamwork. I don't know if it's what you call "solitude", but I'm perfectly fine with that.
But one day... my perspective turned upside down.
It was then...
"Hey, my name's Shaila. You can call me 'Shy'."
Ahhh, she's so persistent. I didn't even ask her name, but she said it herself. At first, my mind's like "Stupidity is contagious."
"Ms. Genesis, you need to improve your Math grades this term."
I was totally dumbstruck! Need improvement? First time in my Math history!
"Ms. Miklannia, would you please tutor Ms. Genesis?"
Actually, I could do it even on my own... but,
"Sure. My name's Zenace. My friends call me 'Ace'."
She's our top 2 student. I have to admit... she's exemplary. I accepted her offer of tutoring.
"Hey, Ace! You kept us waiting! I was about to explode!"
She's already exploding. What a hooligan.
"Oh, you're tutoring someone? Wait! Is that Genesis?"
"Yes?"
"Holy cr*p!"
Yeah, she's being too rude.
"I'm Kensheila. Ken for short."
Well, as for me, I did forget their names.
But that was the start of the hurricane in my life.
I improved my Math grades this time. And I swear I will never go through that again! (lowering her pride and asking someone to help her) That embarrassment!
"Hey, Jen!"
Shaila called me with that name. All I did was avoid her. Prevention mode.
"I saw from the bulletin board. You improved your grades well, Jen."
Zenace sighted me, and told me that.
"As expected of a scholar. Nice one, Jen!"
Kensheila said. She was with Zenace as always.
