Hey guys, good to see ya. I know this book was uncalled for (especially since I have a book of Canada Oneshots -_-) but I just can't control my little bursts of inspiration. By the way, I'm probably going to update A Day With the Italy Twins sometime after this Friday, because I'm a little caught up with midterms since they happen after Christmas break for me. Well, without further ado, enjoy!

Song: You Are The Moon (The Hush Sound)

•••••••

Shadows all around you as you surface from the dark...

Spain could remember the first time he had really, truly looked at Romano. And he was shocked, well and truly shocked.

Emerging from the gentle grip of night's unfolding arms...

For behind that defensive, bratty young boy, was a lonely kid who had lost too much and but stepped over it, who felt too dearly but brushed it aside.

Darkness, darkness everywhere, do you feel alone?

And on those nights when the boy would ghost into his room, seeking his comfort, or would hide in the corner of a room trembling, resisting screaming out from the pain of emptiness, or the weight of too much feeling, he realized Romano was very, very lonely.

The subtle grace of gravity, the heavy weight of stone.

From that day on and until the day he faded into nothingness, he vowed, he would make sure his little Romanito wouldn't suffer alone anymore.

You don't see what you possess, a beauty calm and clear...

Years passed, and though his precious Lovi gained independence, he was still there, he still stayed by his side. He soon noticed that Romano wasn't as confident as he seemed, though he was truly beautiful.

It floods the sky and blurs the darkness like a chandelier...

The anthropomorphic personification of South Italy was ravishing, from his foresty eyes to the auburn hair and the creamy colour of his skin, he was a sight to behold to the Spaniard, especially when he decided to grace the world with a smile that could light the night sky.

All the light that you possess is skewed by lakes and seas...

But to Romano, each time he let his guard down and revealed his true beauty to someone, they always left, mostly for his younger brother, who always seemed to outshine him. It tore a hole in his self-image.

Shattered surface, so imperfect, is all that you believe.

Spain saw Lovino, his wonderful, beautiful Lovino, thought of himself as trash, a shattered piece of imperfection, worth absolutely nothing next to his brother, who was always better than him, always the loved one. Romano could not see he was beautiful, because he could not believe he was beautiful.

I will bring a mirror, so silver, so exact, so precise and so pristine, a perfect pane of glass...

So Spain decided he would be his beloved tomate's mirror, he would take the beauty that he saw and the love that he felt...

I will set the mirror up to face the blackened sky...

... And he would reflect it for his Romano, who he loved so much.

You will see your beauty every moment that you rise.

So each time he was with him, and even after and in between then, Romano would see his beauty and know that he was loved. Because Spain loved Romano too much to ever leave him, not even for North Italy.

Done! It's a wonderful feeling to get things out, y'know? I've loved this song for a while, but when I came up with the concept for this, I just felt that it fit well, so so well.

How'd you guys like it?

Until next time!
