The world that I live in is a strange and mysterious one. It's filled with fearsome monsters, wondrous and odd creatures, heroes and knights that protect our land, demons, fairies, and everyday people. But by far the most dangerous and powerful people who live in our land are mages.
For centuries, brave mages ruled the world of magic. Many shadowed away in the background, creating magical potions and cures to help the people of our great nation of Numa. Some mages directly aided the royal family and ruling class, serving as a great leader to the army and legion of brave knights. All mages were good and very powerful people, who possessed magical abilities far beyond that of any magical apprentice or ordinary wizard. To most people, to be a mage meant bravery, power, courage, and confidence to match.
And yet somehow, I, Dia Alba stumbled upon this strange and intimidating world of magic. Being a mage to me meant dealing with endless waiting, training for days on end, and no social contact other than bickering with a very rude and very particular pixie.
Instead of going out and displaying my potential, for now I must sit in the shadow of former all powerful mage Baba, and await my first calling into the magical world. This is the world where my story takes place.
A world of whimsy, wonder, and most unfortunately- war.
