No Legal Action can Be Taken

Dean's POV.

I sat in my dads office the day after mine and Kelsey's fight over Brianna. With Amanda's suggestions, I was fighting for full custody of my daughter with the case Kelsey was unfit and unable. I watched dad flip through all the paper work I had yet to see, which made me mad.

"Have you read any of this?" He asked looking up at me over his glasses and I shook my head no. "Dean. You would loose this fight if you honestly did this. We have no case." He said and I looked to Amanda whose hand grabbed mine.

"What do you mean we have no case?" She asked and I leaned up straighter in my chair as if it was going to happen me listen better.

"Kelsey has paper work with Deans signature claiming rights go to Kelsey. Why would you sign this?" He asked and I leaned up snatching the paper out of his hands. There it was, mixed in with all the discharge papers.

"Kelsey." I said shaking my head back and fourth. "She knew something was going to happen and she would need assurances that she would always have Bri." I said tossing the paper, letting it glide back on the desk. I'll admit, that was smart. Which then made me wonder how she even knew to do that because it wasn't something she would have come up with ok her own. "Is there anyway around it?" I asked and my father shook his head. Lexi, who had been sitting quietly in the corner, shook her head as well.

"Kelsey knew what she was doing and she was prepared to take you on. There's nothing you can do but ask Kelsey for rights. After all, you didn't even sign the birth certificate." My dad announced and all eyes went on me. My eyes went wide as I thought back to Brianna's birth.

"I forgot to sign my daughter birth certificate. But Kelsey reviewed it. Why didn't she tell me?" I thought out loud which earned responses.

"What if it's not yours?" Lexi asked and I gave her a blank stare. "Sorry. Dumb idea." She said looking to my dad who seemed to be in thought. Everyone in the room knew Brianna was mine and Lexi just wanted to throw her opinion out there.

"Talk to Kelsey. That's all I can say to you." My dad said leaning back in his chair and looking at me.

"That's better said than done." I sighed and ran my hand over my face. "Have you met her? She is so stubborn and hard headed."

"But, she will listen." Amanda quietly said and I looked at her. "She will listen because she loves you." Her voice cracked a little and I grabbed her hand with mine.

"Amanda?" I whispered to her. I watched as she slipped her engagement ring off and place it in my hand while she shook her head, standing up.

"I'm sorry, I have to go." She said before grabbing her purse and leaving the room before I could chase after her.

"I knew that was coming." My father said typing on his computer, not sparring me a glance.

"What just happened?" I asked more confused than anything. Why did Amanda just get up and walk out?

"She's been planning on doing that for a while." Lexi said pulling her phone out and looking at it.

"So I'm the only one who knew Amanda didn't want to be with me?" I asked the two family members in the room and they looked at each other.

"She doesn't want to be a step mom." Lexi said quietly and I let my mouth fall in shock.

"I was about to become a step dad for her and she doesn't want to be a step mom?" I slightly yelled from anger. It was almost selfish of her and selfish of me. Amanda and Kelsey would never survive if they had to live together as a family. Which got me to my next question.

"Lexi what did she mean but Kelsey loves me." I asked and Lexi rolled her eyes at me.

"I swear we are back in high school and you have a crush on the popular girl who doesn't even know you exist so you ask your awesome big sister for help." She spewed out and I smiled. "In all seriousness though, Kelsey loves you. She doesn't want to admit it to anyone but she does. She left her phone laying on the counter and Amanda read what she could between her and Koda but what she did read crushed her. Even if it started as a fling to her and you she fell in love like every teenager does. She's in high school. Every high schooler looks for attention from someone older and when they have it they think they are in love. It's the classic fantasy of a sixteen year old." Lexi explained to me. I just listened to what she was saying and tried to process it. Was it possible Kelsey really had feelings for me and was it possible that I had feelings for her, enough to make Amanda leave?

"I need to find Amanda." I announced before getting up and walking out of my fathers business.

Kelsey's POV**

"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow." I heard my mom say as she shook a bottle in one hand.

"So?" I asked about her phone call. From caller I.D. It told me it was Mr.Blakes office. It could mean a few things.

A. Dean has a firm case against me
B.Mom was fired
Or my personal favorite
C. Dean figured out he has no true legal guardianship over Brianna and he gave up.

"He said Dean didn't want to do anything about it and hat it was your decision." My mom said and I formed a frown.

"Ugh. Why did he have to make things easy?" I asked her and she rolled her eyes before taking Brianna out of my arms to feed her.

Mom has loved having Brianna around and spends more time with her than I ever imagined. Even when dads home he talks and plays with her.

"Hello hoes!" My head snapped to the doorway where a strung out Koda stood in front of us.

"Nice to see you too." My mom said before getting u Land leaving the room, taking Brianna with her.

"Are you okay?" I asked her as she sat next to me and she nodded. I felt like I hadn't seen her in weeks. Well, that wasn't a lie, I had not seen her in two weeks to be exact.

"Girl, so much had been going on that you wouldn't even believe it." She said propping her feet up on my lap and leaning back.

"Well, you remember Bryan?" She asked and I tried recalling who he was or what he looked like.

"Your boyfriend, right?" I asked remembering and she nodded her head.

"Okay so he has been leaving me at his house everyday while he goes to work to make sure I'm loyal or something like that. When he leaves Ben, his older brother, gets home and recently Ben has been giving me a lot of attention. So I decided to do something about it." She told her story as I nodded my head listing. "I kissed Ben and he kissed me back so now we have like a secret affair going on." She finished and I almost choked on air.

"That's your boyfriends brother, Koda." I told her and he nodded her head which let me know she acknowledged the information. "Just be careful." I told her and she laughed.

"Like don't get caught or care like you and Dean?" She asked laughing and I rolled my eyes.

"Ha ha funny." I told her with a fake laugh which only caused her to laugh more."I honestly haven't heard from him since the fight." I told her and her eyes went wide.

"What fight?" She asked eagerly and I laughed. I forgot she didn't know.

"Sit back girl, you're going to love this."
