It has been two weeks since she was discharged and exactly as I predicted, she didn't even contact me.
"Ah my sweater! What the hell are you doing?!"
The scream of this lady brought me back to reality, eyes scanning the situation I just created. I accidentally spilled brown-colored coffee to her broken white sweater, great.
"I-I'm sorry", I bowed and tried to help by giving her napkins but the boyfriend took it the wrong way
"Hey you! Don't touch my girlfriend!" He grabbed me by the collar as I sighed lazily
Pairs of eyes are starting to turn at our way, curious on what's happening in this little coffee shop.
"Sir, we can settle this in a civilized way", Minhyuk came rushing and tried to separate us apart, but no success
"I'm not touching her, I'm sorry-"
It's not surprising that a fist landed on the side of my face, radiating instant pain as I fell to the ground
"What's with the commotion?" The manager came with an unpleased face as the drama couple began to rant out my mistake, "Wonho, I'll see you at the back", I only nodded and stood up
"I'm really sorry", I bowed to the customer sincerely and started walking out.
"Hyung, what's wrong?" Hyungwon approached me with a worried look
"I wasn't focused back there, that's why the accident happened", I took the ice pack he brought with him and placed it on my slightly swollen cheek
"To be honest, you're not yourself lately", he began to confess, "Mind telling me what's bothering you?"
I turned to see Hyungwon and let out another frustrated sigh, "Have you seen Sohee lately?"
He was startled at my question, "I- uhm hyung, you haven't seen her?"
Seeing Hyungwon's secretive and uneasy face gave me a pretty clear idea, "She's avoiding me, isn't she?" He was flustered yet again so I just laughed it off, "I rarely see her at campus, her old manager said she stopped working at that book shop and she never visited this coffee shop anymore"
"Hyung...", I patted his shoulders and smiled
"It's okay, she must've wanted you to keep it from me"
Hyungwon bit his lip hard before shaking his head, "No, it's not that she avoided you. It's just that Sohee has been different lately"
My ears perked at his statement, "Different how?"
"Not in a bad way but I think she's just starting fresh, you know? And she said she had trouble remembering her past so it's better to stick to her new routine"
My heart fell at the fact that she haven't recovered her memories, but again, how much is left there if she knew the truth? She'll hate me even more.
Maybe my face was really pitiful or sad, but Hyungwon suddenly squeezed my shoulders, "Hyung, do you care for Sohee?"
I looked up to see him and instantly nodded, "Very much"
"Really? If she can't remember you, would you give up or-"
"Never! I love her too much to let her go just like that. I want to fix my mistakes and be the man she-"
"Okay drama king, I got you", he took out his phone and sent me something from a chatting app, "Come to this address, you'll see her"
