I looked up at the sky, imagining my boyfriend and smiling down at me as I blew kisses. The stars shone incredibly, showing their true beauty on a night I never thought I'd have. It's the night I have to say goodbye to my boyfriend and best friend, my soulmate.

Looking up at the stars, I feel small. I feel like an ant must feel all the time when surrounded by people. There's a whole nother world up there. It's a world where I want to live. At this moment, I don't want to live another second trapped in this underland. But I promised. And Adeline McKay does not break her promises.

Someday, I think to myself. Someday I'll see him again. I blow one last kiss up to the sky before entering his old house and falling asleep in his bed, the scent on his pillow like a lullaby that quickly lulls me to sleep.

*6 Months Later*

Moving to London was the best thing that ever happened to me. Things after Andrew's death were hard and I needed change. Big change. And moving to a big new city was exactly what I needed. No one here knows me or what lies behind my hazel eyes. I am just a simple ninteen year old girl with a mysterious vibe. At least that's what I've been told by my coworkers at the record store I work part time at.

I came here with a little under six hundred pounds and a suitcase filled with my valuables in it. I have a roommate as bubbly as can be. She's the type of girl who wears rainbow-striped tights, has her hair in pigtails, and dances around our tiny flat with no shame. Her name is Elizabeth Lancaster and she's wild, but I couldn't be more thankful. She welcomed me in her flat with open arms and now we split the rent in half between us.

Needless to say, I needed that job at the record store to help pay for food and rent. It's a cool job. I get to listen to awesome old records all day. My faith in humanity is restored bit by bit the more time I work there. More people of the younger generation, a.k.a. my generation, come in the store and get records. I would think they would illegally download it on their iPhones and such. My awesome persuasive skills have helped young people bring home albums by The Beatles, The Smiths, The Who, Mamas & the Papas, etc.

My boss loves me for that. It's a chill job. Music has always been my passion. It's helped me through the toughest. Sometimes there's just problems that music can't fix and that's exactly why I moved here with practically nothing. My mum was distraught to see her only daughter move away so abruptly, but eventually she understood.

It's only been a few months since the big move and it took me no time at all to settle into things. I got out of school early for excellent grades and whatnot. Apparently I'm smart. Being a music major and literature minor wasn't easy. It took lots of studying and most nights I didn't sleep at all because of big tests on the history of Mozart and Shakespeare. You know, those guys aren't exactly easy to figure out. Elizabeth says that I'm like them and to this day she has yet to figure out who I truly am.

Currently I'm sitting in DJ's Spinnin' Records and listening to a Beatles song from Abbey Road. It's about ten at night and practically closing time. No one really buys records at this time of day. I swing my legs back and forth on the tall stool I sit on pretty much all day. My wool-knitted beanie threatens to slip off my head full of light brown waves, but I save it just in time. A bell grabs my attention, telling me that someone's entered the store.

A young man stumbles in and falls on the ground before staggering forward. My first thought is that he's drunk and I better call the police to escort him home. But I catch a glimpse of his face distorted in pain and I know something isn't particularly right with this man. I peer close. He inches toward the front desk and I see he's gripping his side painfully. I look closer to see blood seeping from the area and on his hand. My eyes widen and I'm not exactly sure what to do. My boss never informed me of the protocol of when a wounded man comes in late at night.
