City Life

7 1 1

As my feet
Hit the street
I'm ready to start my day

First I meet
The Oh-so-sweet
Scene of the kids who play

And as I walk
I begin to talk
With strangers all around

The streets are stocked
No major shock
I'm feeling safe and sound

I see the view
Its nothing new
Of the building down the street

The sky so blue
I approach the venue
Where my boss and I will meet

But first I stop
At the little shop
Just around the bend

I take a hop
And buy some pop
With money ready to spend

I walk back out
People about
Continue on my day

Big strides, no doubt
I'm straight and stout
The building I will stay

But as I dive
Beyond the drive
Of a run down crooked house

A place not live
Like a bumblebee hive
A hooded man comes out

And as I'm stunned
By his pitch black gun
He pulls a kitchen knife

I was the one
My time was done
I loved the city life
