Authors Note:

Happy Tenth Chapter Day!!! (made that up myself, thank-you-very-much!) To be completely honest, I was toward the edge of ditching this story and making another one because I was bored with it and didn't have much inspiration for this story left. But since the 2017 year came around and New Years resolutions came back into place, I, of all the other writers out there that wish the same thing, decided to make a goal to write more and stay with the original project! Phew, that is one tough goal! But I'm doing it! Making time for it and motivation! So, expect more in the future!

Now that I'm finished with the rambling, continue with the story, if you must! <3

It all seemed to happen in a flash; one moment my dirty white paw had touched the surface of the metal and the next I bounded away, writhing in searing pain that throbbed from my paw. The screeches that left my jaws crossed the trees and into the forest. The happy twitter of the birds before died down and several flaps from feathered wings came from the trees above. All I could consider in that moment was if my paw was even there. The mind boggling pain that burst from my limb was an extremist, climbing from the tip of my paw and rising to my shoulder. My back legs worked furiously to try to shake the pain off, but it coincidentally made it worse. I panted from all this maddening work my body was trying to do to heal itself.

My confusion shadowed the fact that the metal thing hurt me, but it was so unexpected that I thought I was attacked by something else. I might've assumed at one point it was Liam, but must've put aside the thought when Liam was by my side, helping me shift back to human.

My limbs etched and pulled until the image of a human came to mind, then finally the body of a wolf transformed into a human. I couldn't wrap my mind around what had happened to my paw, and why the pain faded yet the feeling of my whole front leg was lost. The numbness of my limb was terrifying.

The sense of crisp air grazing my exposed skin brought me back to my senses. Liam was looming over me like some kind of creature with wide worried eyes and a tense posture. He had shifted.

"Naomi! I think you attacked by the front! Can you hear me? Say something, anything!" he cried.

You just had to get into another predicament!

And you just decided to watch, I presume?

Oh, stop with the sarcasm! Do you have any idea as to why our limb is numb?

Well geez, give me a break! I'm the one hurt and dizzy!

Naomi, I swear to goddess that if you keep stalling-

Okay, fine! I was investigating the metal thingy and I got closer. Then I must've-

Touched it. You just had to touch it! My goddess, Naomi! Couldn't you have thought to be a bit more careful! My turn!

Suddenly, I was gently pushed aside into the mental room with the mental TV screen.

Liam immediately saw the change of an unexpected switch, and stepped away. My human body twitched a bit, like a small seizure, then bones rotating under the skin, forming the shape of a canine. Tiny grey beads appeared on my skin and uncurled, extending thick white hairs. Each individual hair took its own fraction of a time to born again, causing a rippling effect across my legs and body. The transition was sluggishly slow, like rubber taking its time to melt in scorching heat. I wondered if she found the effects of the pain as struggling as when I was in control.
