To War

"Don't touch the maps!" I shoved a blond boy away from the table towards D who scolded him. I stood in full armor, the metal plates shining between gaps in the leather and my hair pulled back. I placed my hands on either side of the map and hunched over. It was a map of the city, where the sentinels would go through and where would be safest for us to travel through. "You seem tense." Clarke came around and rubbed at my shoulders. "In three days we move out, I feel like we don't have everything yet something is missing." I drug my hand over the map and sighed as Clarke went over a tight part on my back. My head dropped forward as she kissed my neck. "We have as much planned out as we can. Somethings are just left to fate Onyx." She pushed her body into mine and placed her hands over my eyes. "I wish to know everything." I pushed my face into her hands and sighed. She pulled me back into her body and uncovered my eyes. The maps were still splayed out in front of me and I automatically began spanning over the planes. She reached around to my stomach and gripped on the soft flesh of my hip. I pushed another map on top of the one splayed out and bent over it. My body was slammed down on the table. The air was pushed from my lungs and her hand wrapped around the back of my thigh. "Relax. Everything will be ok." I rocked forward. "What if it isnt, what if we fail. I cant-oh." My eyes rolled into the back of my head and I groaned when her fingers plunged into me. Her fingers danced inside my tight pants, sending me higher until I shattered around her fingers and tossed the maps off the table. "We will win this war." She pulled her fingers from me and stood me straight. She tied a sword around my hips and drug me from the tent to the cave.

"Calm!" I shouted at the people in the cave. Thousands of eyes turned to me. "We leave today, launch into war and we will take over the government. Or what's left of it at least." I cracked a smile and everyone chuckled. "Failure isn't an option, you have all been training for this day. D will take you through everything once and we leave at first light." I patted D on the chest and jogged over to Clarke. "Your pick of any weapon from my bag, run now and choose." Her eyes widened and she crawled up into the cave, I could hear the metal clanging around before she dropped back down with a smile. She stuffed a blade down the front of her pants and stood next to me on the ledge. "We leave in hours, how will I know you are safe?" Her voice was soft as it drifted to me over the shouts of warriors. "We will be together. Stay with me and I can protect you." I ran my fingers through her hair and turned her to face me. "Im think our seconds should lead the government. We deserve a break." Her eyes flashed hope towards me. "What happens to us?" Her body moved closer to me. "Fate will tell us." "Onyx!" I tore my eyes from her to face Jasper. Anouk sat in his arms, flipping her head around and giggling when she went off ballance. Her once blonde hair had turned brown and she could walk now. I took the squirming kid. "What are you going to do with her." I brushed through her hair. "Her mom hasn't returned, I have no choice but to leave her behind with someone." I pinched my eyebrows together and chewed on my lip. "Sage is staying behind, we will return for her when we win." He jumped off the ledge and looked skeptical. "You want to leave my girl with a dog?" I huffed. "Sage is the best trained dog we have, either it's her or you stay behind." He grimmised at my harsh tone before muttering she could sit with Sage.

"Everything will be well." I kissed the babies head and sat on the ledge. Weapons were being doled out, so I handed Anouk to Clarke and crawled up the cave and dug through my bag. I pulled several blades to my pants and held the tattoo gun in the air. I held now thirty six marks on my arm, venturing down to my elbow. I heaved a sigh and tossed myself back down the cave shaft and watched everyone crowed up to the front of the cave. Clarke didn't have Anouk anymore, but she was pulling on the last of her armor and tieing her hair up. I joined the rest of the leaders at the head of the group and straitened my spine. Silence fell through everyone. "To war!" Screams erupted around me, and pride swelled in my chest before I turned around and began out walk back to the city.
