Post Battle with Demise

Chapter 1

A cold breeze blew through my hair. I shivered and scooted closer to Link. He put his arm around me and smiled. I blushed a little. Ever since Link's fight with Demise he and I have been inseparable.

I looked around at the light snow falling around us. Winter's last attempt at a storm before Spring comes. I smiled at the beautiful crystals falling around us. Winter had always been my favorite season. I loved the white snow and making snowmen, snow angels and drinking hot chocolate.

I reached over and intertwined my fingers with Link's. He looked down at our hands and blushed a brilliant shade a pink. I laughed.

We sat on the edge of one of the designated jumping platforms to call our Loftwings. The pond was to our back and the cave was to our right. I looked down into the swirling clouds below us and thought of over adventure below them. We had been through so much.

"Zel?" Link asked interrupting my thoughts.

"Hm?"

"We should probably go inside, the storm's getting worse"

"Yeah"

I stood up, brushing snow off my dress. Suddenly, something hard hit my side. I looked over at Link who was balling up another snowball. He looked up at me with a devilish grin. I returned the grin. I bent down to pick up some snow, then jumped to the side as Link threw the snowball at me. I turned, aimed and threw. My aim was true and hit my target square in the chest. He lurched back a little with the force of the hit but it hardly fazed him. He pulled his arm back but I jumped behind a tree just as he threw it. I heard the ball thunk against the tree and came out to throw another snowball. After I threw it I turned and ran across the four stones crossing the pond. I could hear Link, laughing, hot on my trail.

I looked behind me and was surprised to see Link right there. He smiled and picked me up, carrying me towards Kukiel and her mother's house.

Then he tripped and we fell in a heap on the ground, both laughing. I pushed my head up and realized I was laying right on top of Link. I quickly got up, blushed profusely. This time it was Link's turn to laugh at me.

"Meow"

We both looked back to find that Link had tripped over one of the cat-like creatures we had in Skyloft. I picked up the startled cat and pet it. It started to purr. I smiled at the little cat. Link walked over to us. I put the cat back down and slid my hand into Link's and looked up at his beautiful blue eyes which were smiling down on me. His nose was pink from being out in the cold and his dirty blond hair has flakes of snow tangled in it.

"Link?"

"What?"

"You have snow in your hair, haha" I giggled. Link hurriedly shook his hair out and grinned.

"You do too, let me get it for you" he said just before tackling me. We both fell side by side, staring at the gray clouds above us. Then we looked at each other, and seeing our flushed faces and tangled hair we burst out laughing.

Link got up and helped me stand up. As I stood up I slipped on the slippery snow and fell against Links chest. He caught me and I looked up at his face. He looked a little surprised but also happy. I quickly stepped back.

"Sorry"

"It's fine Zel, don't worry about it. Now let's go up to the bazaar and get something warm to drink" he smiled at me and held his hand out. I took it and we walked up the stairs.
