The day was finally here. I smiled to myself as I rolled over in bed and stared out the window with morning sunlight streaming through it. After waiting months, it was finally time for SummerSlam. Tomorrow I would be one of thousands of people in the audience witnessing the PPV of the summer live and in person. I had the date circled on my calender. I sat up and stretched with a smile on my face. I wasn't normally a morning person, but today was an exception. On my desk, I had a large photo of my three favorite wrestlers. The Shield of course. Only the greatest and most brutal group since Nexus to come into the WWE. In fact, it wasn't fair to compare The Shield to them. Nexus was doomed to fail from the beginning. It was a shame really. Had they rewritten the story line a bit Nexus really would have been a formidable and long lasting group. Oh well. Gotta shake things up. The photo had been laying on my desk ever since I got my ticket for Summer Slam. After the event, some of the superstars would be signing autographs backstage and I wanted them to sign my photo.
I nearly skipped downstairs and made breakfast. I cleaned up before heading back upstairs to get ready. Once I finished my makeup and hair I decided on a short, cute, layered pink dress. I slipped on leather flips flops and grabbed my bag and was ready to go.
During the event I could feel the energy off each and every person in crowd. It was heart pumping, non stop, adrenaline fueled action. I cheered and booed along with the crowd. About halfway through the event I heard a familiar theme hit the titan-tron and my heart stopped.
Sierra, Hotel, India, Echo, Lima, Delta; SHIELD.
The music started and everyone was looking around to see where they would come from. My jaw nearly dropped when I noticed they were coming down the isle I was on the end of. I probably looked like a kid with his face pressed up against a candy store window. They looked just the same as they always did, but it was different in person. They all kept their eyes down, glancing up occasionally to glare at someone who pulled on their arm or clothing. Dean looked the angriest and kept jerking his arms away from the fans. I leaned back a bit as he passed me. Roman was following close behind him. He didn't look as angry, in fact he looked like he was just deep in thought. That didn't stop him from jerking his arm away when a fan tried to grab his hand. As Roman passed me a fan behind me tried desperately to touch him and pushed me forward a bit. I accidentally bumped into the final Shield member, Seth Rollins.
"I'm so sorry!" He glared at me for a moment. He then gave a slight shake of his head as if he was shaking a thought away and continued down to the ring.
I shrugged off the odd vibe I was feeling and enjoyed the rest of the event without any further troubles.
After the event I was still buzzing with energy. I was waiting in the long line of people to get an autograph from The Shield. I peeked around the 15+ people in front of me and swallowed when I saw Seth. I felt a little awkward and decided I should apologize. I hope they aren't as scary in person as they are in the ring. When it was finally my turn I bounced up to the table and Roman gave me a wide smile.
"Hey there. Got something for me to sign?" I nodded shyly and handed him the photo. He signed it neatly then handed it back to me with a sweet smile.
"Good to see pretty girls are believers too." I blushed lightly and said thanks before moving over to Dean. He took the photo, signed it, and handed it back without saying a word. Geez, was he always this serious? Finally I came up to Seth and I gave him an awkward smile. I opened my mouth to say something but he looked up at me and beat me to it.
"Hey, it's you."
"Er.. yeah. Sorry about..you know.. earlier." He was studying me closely but seemed to lighten up a bit as a faint smile crossed across his lips.
