Overhead prospective:

He sat there unable to sleep. Thoughts ran through his mind, but he failed to grasp any concepts. They were but answerless questions. The ideas hung in empty space for a moment but slipped a few seconds later.

The girl slept quietly on her makeshift bed, her hair covering her face. Sleep was well deserved, very much so. She had been so clever and quick with her responsibilities. It was important not to waist any time now. The girls eyes fluttered open slowly now as she awoke. A beam of light made it's way through the shutters of a window, flooding into the room.

"Ghosty?.." She spoke as if not expecting a response.

"Yeah darling. I'm here.. thanks to you." He twisted around offering a smile. The girl stood up slowly, walking towards the boy. Sitting up right, he hugged the girl who was now sitting by him. They kissed momentarily with a cute derp face, causing each other to laugh.

They got ready for another long day, for they'd have to travel long distance. First, they decided they needed something that could take a hit. Some protection. With a little luck, they had found a big roll of duct tape. They began layering it, making durable armor. It wasn't much but it could be the deferents between live or die. Perhaps if the boy had worn it before, he wouldn't have gotten impaired in the shoulder by glass and almost bled out.

They hardly had ammo after the fights. There hadn't been much in stock that week at the store. The knifes had a longer durability though, and wouldn't draw attention with noise.

They ran along side a continuous line of houses. Adrenaline pumped it's way through their body's with each oxygen intake. They both strapped knifes to their thighs for quick, close combat situations. As time passed, the two of them quickly learned to survive with strategy. It was key for this moment in life.

You can't live alone anymore. It took a team effort to keep things going. Alone, one injury meant death. The only thing we can do now is adapt and overcome.
