One day a bunny named Brownie was accepted into the Double Hop Race. The black cat named
Sparkie was always in the race, no one has ever beat him. Every animal in Animal Village called
him the Black Spark. On the day of the race, Bunny started warming up by hopping over horse
hurdles. The Black Spark sat under a shady tree. "Brownie Bunny to the start line." Said
Mr.Turtle,"The Black Spark to the start line." The animals went to the finish line."Take you mark,
GO!" The animals set off. In the middle of the race, The Black Spark sat under a shady
tree."Brownie will never beat me, she is way behind!" He had a nice shady nap. He woke to the
sound of cheering."What?!?!" He said,"I'm going to go check it out!" The Black Spark ran to the
finish line. No one saw him. He glanced to the right and then to the left. On the left side he saw a
crowd of animals cheering around something. He ran over."Hey, Hey! What is all this commotion
about? I was taking a nap!" Then he suddenly remembered, he was in the race!"Brownie WON!"
Said some animal."You shouldn't have took that nap!" Said a bull. The bull was right. He shouldn't
have taken that awfully long nap. Remember, never think you will always win, you will lose, and
you will win. You can only win if you try. So keep trying!!!!
