I took a hard line when the two men came in with Rain. I don't like being an ass but I'm laid up in no man's land. I wanted to get them off balance and see how they responded to me being aggressive. The old doctor was fun to deal with hurt like hell but fun. I can deal with him. The father on the other hand came in with such a weak lie that I got a little pissed off and I called him on it. Now some would call challenging them was stupid when I can't even sit up on my own. It was a calculated risk and it paid off. They started looking at me with some respect after that. An I couldn't help but smile when Rain started in on her father. She turn's to me.

“Shall we get started boys.” There is a smile on her lips but worry in her eyes.

“First off I would like to thank you for saving my little girl.” His eyes travel from me to her.

There is a boundless love in his eyes as he looks at her. I wonder if I will look at my children that way if I have any. Rain blushes a deep red.

“She saved me at the end of it sir. That prick had me dead to rights.”

“We can go back an forth over who saved who tell we are blue in the face. So we'll just leave it as is okay.” I nod my head in agreement.

“How long have I been asleep?”

“You have been asleep for three days now. Half way through the second day we thought you weren't going to make it. You had a high fever and where barely breathing.” She whispers the last part.

I can feel the sadness and concern radiate off her. I look closely an I can see her holding back tears. That must have been when I had my little talk with the goddess. I smile up at her. A tear falls down her cheek. My smile fades as it falls.

The last time I had seen a face like that is when Molly found out her boyfriend at the time was cheating on her. I couldn't comforted her at the time. That was one of my lowest points.

I tap the bed and move my right arm as if to make space for her. She gives me a watery smile. She keep's her clothes on. On one hand I was like damn but on the other her dad is standing right there.

She crawls under the cover an snuggles up next to me.

“I will be fine Brianna. I'm alive an on the mend. Did you say three days?” I can feel her nod her head on my chest “SHIT!!!. I need to call my family before they start to worry.”

“We will get you a phone when you wake up again. An your sister has already been to your house.” I jump a little. I almost forgot her father.

“How do you know she's been to my house?”

“I have pack members watching your home. I called your work to let them know you will not be making it in for awhile and for them to tell people you are taking personal time.” I look at him in shock.
