I stood in my room listening to my loud music, the song playing at the moment, "You're Gonna Go Far Kid" by The Offspring. My waist length burgundy hair swept around me as I danced and sang along to one of my favorite songs. However, unfortunately my song was interrupted by my cell phone ringing. The number on the screen was one I didn't recognize, but it was local, I could tell that much from the area code. So I answered, "Hello?" There was static on the other end for a moment then a "hey Blade. How's it been?" I paused, taken aback, nobody had called me by my old nickname in quite some time.. clearly it's somebody I'd known, but who? "Who is this?" I questioned attempting to keep my voice flat, as if I didn't care. "That's none of your concern. Just meet me at Spike's place in 20 minutes." Then before I could consent or refuse the line went dead. My own curiosity would kill me if I didn't go, but just to be safe I would grab my knives. I grabbed one especially beautiful pocket knife and tucked it in my waistband, this was the knife that had given me my nickname several years ago, because there was a time and point you'd never find me without it. I tucked another knife into my black combat boot, the right one, a knife in my purse, and one in my jacket pocket. 4 knives, I concluded.
To many people this may seem like overkill, but I know how fast one could be disarmed, and not knowing who I'd be meeting at Spike's, it's better safe than sorry. Especially considering I once ran with Spike and his crew, but now we're but harsh enemies.
I looked in my body length mirror and adjusted my skinny jeans to hide the knife in my waistband and adjusted my Alesana band shirt, and took off.
Spike's place was about 10 minutes from my house, walking of course at a brisk pace, but that's how I always maneuvered through the world. Briskly. Generally it'd take most people the full 20 minutes, I'd been alotted to get there, or even longer. I strolled on towards the place, and stood outside, leaning against the side of the building that was Spike's home, which was comfortably lodged in the middle of nowhere, I heard footsteps as I looked up expecting to see my mystery caller, but instead saw Spike. His real name was Jonathan, but somehow along the lines Spike became his nickname and it had always stuck. "Hey Tampa," he sneered saying my name wrong "he said you'd be waiting here" I raised a brow, "who said I'd be here?" He snorted and shook his head, "you'll see, cunt, I was merely asked to keep you company til he got here." I was growing nervous. Because if Spike would be involved then it would most likely not be good for me. It'd been some time since I'd actually looked at Spike, his once chubby baby fat laden cheeks were now sunken in with a much more mature expression creating sharp angular cheekbones. His dark brown hair swept across his brow, just above his chocolate brown eyes. Spike was not unattractive by any means, but that did not matter in that moment.
At the moment my focus was on this mystery caller. "Hey Blade," i heard called from behind me, I turned to see who was there and I was met with a boy who I once knew long ago, that I once called my boyfriend.
He had short black hair and shining blue-green eyes, he was short, standing only at about 5'5" in comparison to my 5'2" stature. He had a slight slouch in his stance and had a very petite frame, though he had packed on some muscle since I'd last seen him.
Disgruntled by the fact that he was there, I nearly stammered but caught myself moments before I did,"hello Sky," I took this moment to reflect on the last time I'd seen him. It was almost half a year back since I'd cut my final ties with the crew, the last tie being him, we had gotten into a large dispute that nearly got physical, the near physical incident caused us to split paths because it was unhealthy for the both of us. I stood in a defensive posture, hand lingering above the blade tucked into my waistband, as Sky grinned, "what's up girlie?" I glared back "what do you want Skylar?" He approached swiftly and placed a hand on my cheek "nothing darling, I just wanted to catch up with you!" I took a breath in and stepped back in an attempt to leave his range but felt my back hit something behind me, dammit. Is forgotten spike was there. "S-sky...?" I stammered out as a wicked grin took over his face and everything became black for me.
