A MIKEY POEM FROM GERARD'S POINT OF VIEW
- - - - - - - - - -
I wish I could protect you.
Not from others,
But from yourself.
You love to sleep with them.
But no matter how many,
You'll always come back.
To me,
To your brother.
It's because you know.
You've always knew.
They don't care.
Not about you or your life.
You don't matter to them.
But you do to me.
No matter how many times you cut,
I'll always love you for you.
We did things,
That weren't too brotherly.
The same things,
That you do with strangers.
I really hate you.
Even when you tell me
You love me.
You promise it's the truth.
Even if you're drunk.
But in the end,
You don't.
Now this is your new home,
Trapped behind bars.
I did this to help you.
To save you from yourself.
You did this,
Brought it upon yourself.
What they do to you,
And then just leave,
I'm sure you like.
Since you did it to me.
You've done this to yourself.
Wouldn't let me help,
Didn't want my help.
Don't think I don't love you.
I just want you to know,
You're still mine.
You've always been mine.
Ignore what they do.
Because when you get out,
In a few years,
You'll be mine again.
I told you not to be with them,
The wrong crowd.
You chose them.
Over me.
You chose the druggies.
The shooters.
The killers.
The monsters.
Over me.
Your brother.
I didn't betray you.
You betrayed me.
I told the police.
To save you.
Protect you.
Now you'll get justice.
You chose them over me right?
So it'll be nice seeing them again.
In prison right?
I just hope they aren't to rough.
Because since you were born,
I've claimed you as mine.
