The Tragedy Of Love

Two souls once met
And at that very instant their future was set.
It seemed liked their love would last till death,
But love can start out at its best
And then end up being a wreck.

They fought a good fight
'Cause in their hearts they knew they were in the right,
But the heart can be deceiving,
Letting you believe in what you're dreaming
And then leave you broken and grieving.

They start to wonder where they went wrong
For their love for each other was nothing but strong.
In each other's arms they used to belong
Now they're nothing but the remains of a sad song
Left with the pain that would last lifelong.

As they begin to pick up the broken pieces
And mend their hearts filled with stitches,
The word "almost" consumes their every thought
And how a word such as simple as that
Could bring such sorrow everywhere it sought to brought

So in the end,
The tragedy of life is simply not death
It is the love that we let die inside of us
While we continue to live
And take our shaky breaths
