"Hit me."

"Sorry dude, no more today. You've reached your limit."

"It's fine, I'll be back tomorrow."

"As usual. Hey and Lucas, take care."

He chuckled "I'll try my best."

A 21 year old Lucas Friar roamed the streets of New York. He wasn't drunk, he didn't get drunk anymore. Drinking does for him what cigarettes do for smokers. His tolerance was so high it didn't get him drunk anymore.

He unlocked the door to his apartment to find someone staring at him. He turned on the light.

"Damn it Riley." He breathed "You scared the shit out of me."

"Maybe if you didn't come home so late, you wouldn't be scared." She said rolling her eyes

"Why are you up so late?" He aksed taking off his jacket

"Can't sleep."

"Again?" Lucas asked surprised

"Unfortunately yes. School is so stressful."

He chuckled "I wouldn't know."

Riley laughed dryly "Very funny Lucas, why don't you take your ass to bed. Wouldn't want to be late for your day of drinking."

"Good idea." Lucas smirked causing her to scoff. He laughed "Try and get some sleep." He said ruffling her hair

"Asshole." She laughed

Lucas smiled "I'm glad you noticed."

"Just go to bed already."

"Alright fine." He laughed "Im serious, try and get some sleep, you have school to go to."

"We'll see what happens."

Lucas sat on the counter drinking coffee as Riley ran around their apartment looking for things.

"I think that's everything." She breathed out

"Keys, phone." Lucas said tossing them to her

"Thank you."

"And coffee." He said walking behind her to the door.

Riley kissed his cheek "Thanks Lucas, don't drink to much and try and keep your fuck buddies away from my stuff. I still haven't found half my
makeup. "

"Will do." He smiled "Don't forget be home as soon as you can."

"I know, I know your parents are coming."

"Try and talk to them this time, they'll still think you're a mute."

She rolled her eyes "You don't talk for like a year and all of a sudden you're a mute." She muttered. Lucas laughed

"Don't stress to much."

"I'll try." She said closing the door

Lucas grinned, he had nothing to do. Yes he had a job, but he didn't work today. He shuffled through the mail sitting on the counter.

"Bills, more bills, coupons," He continued until he came upon one letter in particular. The return adress was from Chicago, and he didn't know anyone from there, but the letter was written out to him.

He opened it up and started reading.

Hey Freak, I know the return adress probably fucked you up but I'm out on a business trip, not much I can do. And yes I'm writing you a letter, there's no electronics. The place we're staying is really werid but we have to stay if we want to get this deal. We really need to talk when I get back, it's important. Tell Riles I said hi and I'll call her as soon as possible.

Farkle

"Wonder what that's all about." Lucas muttered. He simply shrugged it off and grabed his car keys. He wouldn't drink this early, but he needed to get out.

"Well if it isn't the girl who disappeared." He smirked

"Sup genius."

He sat down next to her at the bar. "Were did you go?"

"I came here. It's a great place for Art."

"Why didn't you tell them." He asked pulling out a cigarette

"Nope, not around me remember." She said taking it out of his hand
"I'm going back next week. Please don't say anything, I know how hurt they were."

"You know they live together now."

"Really?"

"Yes Maya, but they're not dating or anything. After you left Lucas was the only person Riley would talk to, they kind of bonded."

"That's good." She nodded

"So Farkle tell me, how are they doing."

"They're fine, Riley goes to NYU. Unfortunately Lucas still drinks, but I think alcohol is like water to him. It has no effect."

"I'll call you when I'm back in town, don't say a word to them." Maya threatened

Farkle put his hands up in  defense
"Wouldn't dream of it."
