"Why must subbing be so boring?" I ask myself as I sit here in my desk looking out at all of these ridiculously cute, young faces, doing their work. The only sound is that of pages being flapped and steam coming out of over worked brains. Don't get me wrong I love subbing but subbing for high school can be one of the most boring jobs in the world at times? So I sit here and watch as this psychology class does a worksheet; so exciting. As students finish I can actually do something... Say, "Questions sheet goes here, and answers there." It took these students twenty minutes to find author and ISBN and such info from their textbook. As they finish the kids still don't talk to each other. Like I don't need a circus but come on this is not a library!
What must I do to get some entertainment around here? So quiet, much noise. Siting, sitting, dream dream dream...
I wonder what would happen if a news team came into the classroom...
Lights flashing, cameras rolling and the news reporter: He is pretty cute, black curls, light skin like kissed by the carribean sun, green eyes and arms so well-shaped they are about to bust out of his dress shirt. But what is he saying?
"Kids what do you know about the race of aliens that has just landed and demands they will only speak to your teacher?" I hear this and it is like buzzing noise. Like he did not just say aliens! And what did he say about Mr. Allen? I had so many questions but I snapped out of it a second faster than the students. I knew however way, this news team and whatever news they had should not be in this classroom. So I quickly got up and said, "I don't think you should be in here with high schoolers! Especially if what you are saying is true! So I'm going to need you to leave!" I finish as I am literally pushing these insensitive assholes out of my room. I am shoving and shoving while the kids are behind me dumbstruck. The reporter is still spouting question after question. And all of this noise is attracting the attention of the other classes around. One teacher says, "Leave now or I'm calling the cops! You are trespassing!" That's when I remember that because of the trespassing and because of this being a place with minors, the video could not be used. The news team still ways not budging and there is only so much pushing against a mountain of muscle you can do! So I stopped. The other teachers still hadn't called administration or anyone,; so I pulled out my phone and I said, "You should probable leave and leave the video here because it is illegal to record minors without parental consent and trespassing on school grounds. I think it's to late for you already. So I dialed 91 and the team looked at me with hate! I was like lol. They grumbled as I talked to the police but as I disconnected from 911 with a promise that a cop was on the way and the principal and other admin showing up. The reporter looked at me and said, "I don't know who you are but I will kill you for this!" and then
RIIIIIIIINNNNGGGG! Goes the bell. I blink out of my stupor and tell the exiting students to have a good day. Not believing I daydreamed all of my class I got up drank some of my coffee and welcomed my next class.
