I walk into my last period of the day.
Sophia is already at her desk , she's always the first one there.
I walk to my desk and take out one of my earphones.
"Hey Sophia" I say. She looks up from her phone.
"Oh hey Karen" she smiles.
"I'm so ready for a nap " I say , sitting down in my seat.
I look at my phone.
"Oooooh Karen look who's here " she teases.
"Stop." I give her a look.
I already know who she's talking about.
Jake.
I turn slightly to look at him. He looks gorgeous as ever.
I turn back towards her and give her a little smile.
The rest of our group arrives.
Destiny sits next to me and Jessica sits next to Sophia.
"Karennnnn... he's in here. " Jessica says.
" i knows , i know , i know. "
I turn to look at him.
"When are you going to talk to him ?" Destiny asks.
"Uh how about never ??" I say.
"Why not ?" Jessica asks.
The bell rings. I watch jake talk to the teacher for a bit then he turns and starts to walk out of the room.
He glances at me and walks out.
"He notices you. "
"But what if he doesn't ?" I put my head down.
"He does." Jessica says.
"Whatever you say Jessica "
" you've been liking him for a long ass time. Just talk to him. "
" I don't want to get rejected. "
"You won't karen. When's the last time a guy rejected you ?"
"Never. And I don't want him to be the first one." I tell her.
"He won't be ! "
"you don't know that !" i told her.
Mr.beck begins the lesson but like usual we don't really pay attention.
i check my phone for the time.
"yay only a couple more minutes. " i say. " im getting picked up early "
"how come ?"
"because i don't wanna be here and my mom said she could pick me up ." i laugh.
"lucky you. are you ever here for a full day ?" sophia jokes.
"probably not " i laugh.
after a couple minutes , my note is brought in and i get to leave.
" bye guys. talk to you later " i walk out of the classroom and whip out my phone.
im responding to messages , not looking up. i know my way around.
right when i look up , i bump into someone.
"oh god sorry " i bend down to pick up my phone and look up.
jake is standing there.
why did it have to be him ? why not some random person i didn't care out.
"no im sorry. are you okay ?" he asks.
"yeah i'm good." l laugh a bit. " just knocked my phone. that's it "
" alright. shouldn't you be in class?" he asks me
"shouldn't you be ?" i ask.
this is the first time i've talked to him. why am i not nervous ?
"im the TA." he tells me.
" yeah i know that. but you don't seem to ever be in there helping. "
" how do you know ?"
"cause i never see you ."
"hmm.. alright , alright. so what are you doing out here ?"
"leaving "
"why?"
"just because." i say. my mom is probably waiting for me. "but i gotta go. my ride is here ."
"okay , see you around karen." he smiles at me and walks away.
im totally blushing.
he knows my name.
which means he notices me.
i smile so big it hurts.
i rush to meet my mom , trying to hide my smile.
