The Lake

My name is Mara. I'm not living but i sure as hell wish i was. I didn't choose to be like this. I never wanted to die. I was never afraid to die. I was never afraid to leave the world, but i didn't know it would be so torturous and painful! I miss my body and my life. I'll tell you what happened. But trust me it wont be pretty.

One summer my mom sent me off to summer camp so I could make new friends. When i got there a camp instructor took me to the camp office where they gave me a uniform and equipment. Then they showed me to my room. I was bunking with the best girl ever! Avery was amazing. She was smart, funny, beautiful, and very talented. It scared me though. Right behind our cabin was Lake Panople. The vamp directors told me to stay clear of that lake. They said it was haunted.

"Do you think it's actually haunted?" Avery asked the girls in the bed across from us. The girl on the lower bunk, Reese, answered first. "I don't know but i think we should find out!" Reese got up and walked to the back window and began to stare at the lake. "I'll keep first watch!" Reese said as she continued to gaze out the window at the dark, mysterious lake.

"Sorry 'bout 'er. She can tend to do things with out the consent of 'er roomies. Tis' happen last year too." Said her bunkmate, "My name's Emmilia But y'all can call me Emmy." Emmy seemed nice. Im started to like this place. Minus the fact that there might be a so said haunted lake behind us.

The next day Avery and I went to activities. We went to swimming first. We showed up at Lake Prepio for the first swim class. Even though i already knew how to swim we had to go, 'for fun.' So, we walked over to the dock and looked down into the water. As the other kids started to show up i saw one boy who drew my attention. I didn't know anything about him except that he deserves an award for prettiest boy. My heart stopped when he sat down next to me and said, "Hi, I'm Kai." I looked down into the water at then at him and said, "Hey. I'm Mara." We talked for a while until it was time for lunch. While we walked to lunch we showed each other where we got bunked. His was next door to us!

It was time for bed and we all decided that we wanted to check out the lake so we snuck out when all of the instructors were asleep. We ran down to the dock of Lake Panople and Emmy was the first to keep watch. We sat on the sand for about 5 minutes and Reese said, "My butt hurts. Im going in." So that leaves me....
