Coming home after such a long time was...scary. it brought back good and bad memories. I'd been here for a few days now and it was boring. Mum had swapped mine and Adams room over.
So I was able to stay down the stairs and not have to go upstairs for anything. I honestly felt trapped and I hated it.I felt trapped and isolated. My mum is constantly telling me to go out with my friends because they would be worried about me after the accident. What she doesn't know is as soon as I told all my friends, even the ones on my football team, that I only had one leg none of them answered.I was heartbroken. I thought that I could count on these people for help when I needed it but obviously not. Some friends they were. For the rest of the two weeks I stayed in my room watching Netflix and going to the doctors for check-ups. Ryan was always there to cheer me up and I'm glad he will be there when we go back to school tomorrow. I am now thankful that I am allowed to walk using crutches and not that stupid wheelchair. It makes me feel like a human again. Mum wasn't impressed but Adam seemed fine with it.
The only thing I had refused to do was go and see dad and Ruby's graves...I couldn't bring myself to do it. A part of me was urging to go and say my final goodbyes but another part wanted me to steer clear as I should also be dead right now.
I've had no more nasty encounters with anyone since that lady in the Café but I haven't been out much. I have a funny feeling that I'm going to get dome dirty looks when going back to school...I just have to take it in my stride I guess.
I was reading when I got a knock on the door. "come in" I said and my mum walked in. she smiled and came and sat on the edge of my bed.
"I've ironed your uniform for tomorrow, are you excited to go back" she asked smiling. My mum has never been one to understand a teenagers emotions, especially now since I'm all messed up. She just seems to think I'm always happy and have no worries but of course that is not the case. She has never taken into consideration how I am feeling but I guess that is how mums are sometimes, I still love her with all my heart.
"not really" I said honestly.
"oh you'll be fine Amber you're a big girl" she laughed rolling her eyes.
"you don't understand mum...can you please just leave" I said a tears were on the brink of escaping.
"well ok Amber, I'll see you in the morning" she said kissing my head and leaving me to cry myself to sleep.

I got up early the next morning and had breakfast, got dressed and was ready to go within half and hour. My phone buzzed on my dresser and it had a text from Ryan bringing a smile to my face. It said
'be ready In 5 I'm coming to pick you up'. He is such a sweet boy...and a very cute one at that. I laughed at the message and shoved my bag on my shoulders. I grabbed my crutches and hobbled to the door. Mum and Adam had gone to work so I grabbed my keys and locked the door. A little blue car drove down the road and I saw Ryan sat in the front smiling at me. He stopped outside my house and got out.
"morning sunshine, lets get going" he said as he opened the door for me helping me in. "are you ready?" he asked me taking my hand.
"as ready as I'll ever be I suppose" I said chuckling even though the situation was far from funny.
"don't you worry Amber I shall be your knight in shining armour protecting you" he said making us both laugh as we were driving down the road.
We eventually got to school and my heart beat was increasing rapidly. Ryan obviously noticed my nerves and took my hand to reassure me. He got out and opened the door for me and I hoped my way out, trying to stabilize myself with my crutches...it worked slightly. We both began walking down the hall and some of the glares in got were hilarious. People stopped talking as they noticed a one legged Amber walking down the hall. There were some whispers of 'what happened to her' and 'she is going to get kicked of the football team' which made me and Ryan laugh. But the laughter was short lived when we got the end of the hall and I saw something I never wanted to see...
My four ex-bestfriends hanging out and laughing with my lifelong bully.
